I knew that something had to be up. That explains a lot. It takes a lot of special to hold up an LSU win as an example of something bad.

Roger is using several LSU wins as examples of why LSU's 2015 offense was bad.

A whole 7 points scored in the second half, which came with 2:00 left in the game when the D forced a turnover inside the 20. A whopping 63 second half yards.

How can you be data driven without considering results?? Its "partially" data driven.
If I had a final poll that had Auburn and MSU in the top ten; what would you think of it? Honest answer
It depends on what your methodology is. To over simplify it, Auburn and State played 6 and 5 teams respectively in the final S&P top 15. On the surface it isn’t inconceivable that they can be highly ranked despite their record. I personally had them lower, but it doesn’t invalidate the system. S&P isn’t a CFP resume ranking, though he is doing some work on that as well.
ETA: What is your 2019 top 10?

***ETA: hey Ben. Been thinking about you man. Was cutting grass this morning and for some reason you were on my mind. I hope all is well (given the circumstances)... I wish you the best bud

Do you think Auburn and MSU were top ten teams last year?
I mean, part of his methodology is how well a team is playing at a particular time and MSU lost their last game to Iowa.
So yes, any ranking that has both of these in the top ten is highly flawed.

Alabama or Clemson would've won that game by 50 points.
This team under this coach has a pattern. They have a few good drives in the first 20 minutes of the game, then go into hibernation until either the depth of the team bails us out or we lose. We had two notable outliers last season, one positive (UGA) and one negative (Bama) but otherwise, that's the pattern.

18th in the CFP poll
the irony of this dipshit's posting is that he probably doesn't even realize that the playoff committee is probably looking at advanced metrics since you know damn well they arent watching all the games
meaning theres a solid chance they are using BillC's stats lololololololol.

I don’t have my final ratings available at the moment, but based on where I currently have them for 2019 I believe both were in the teens.

They lost the last game to Iowa, but how did the game play out? His method weighs efficiency more than what he considers to be the randomness of turnovers and big plays. Did State beat Iowa on a snap to snap basis and lose a close game due to a couple of turnovers or big plays? If so, that may explain why their rating was, or wasn’t, significantly impacted by that game.

So you would never shite on an offense that only looked good vs teams that averaged 80th in total defense?
i.e. the 2016 offense

its like the 8-4 2016 LSU team....most LSU fans consider them a disappointment, and they'd be right! because that 8-4 team still was a top 10 team according to S&P year end rankings.

except youre touting an offense that let Southeastern shut them down for a huge portion of the game.
yes id rather have an offense that was good against bad defenses over an offense that was bad against bad defenses.

classic cultist response
the offense can have negative totals yards and win a game.
do you follow the sport or just look for ways to defend O?
