It would be unfair to hold Orgeron to the same standard in 3 years though. It's just.......unfair.

I'm waiting for the "Yeah, but Miles handed Orgeron a turd sandwich and Saban left Miles caviar!!!!!!!"

At some point, the guy will actually have to produce...right? I mean, these fans that had such high expectations for Miles and would not tolerate such mediocrity...surely that wasn't just some personal issues they had with him? Surely they still want and expect the same level of performance from the program,. right?

But see, here's the thing. They can't frame the coach's "trying to fix the offense" without bringing up Miles. If they judge it on its own, it just looks really bad so far. So they have to compare him to Miles to say "well at least he's trying to change."

Correct...all while refusing to admit he's fixing things he's allowed to fail.

It's the 2017 season all over again where he got credit for righting the ship he sailed into the fricking reef with a loss to Troy...all the while forgetting why the ship needed to be righted in the first damn place.

This is exactly the way it should be... Complain when its needed and praise when needed.... That's ALL I have ever been about... no matter the coach...……………...

You don't have a point. You just post bullshite. you just argued roger 5 pages over some dumbass shite about Earl posting negative stuff 90 percent of the time. The only reason it wouldn't be 90 is because it's higher.

By how much though?

Miles was 8-5 in 2014...easily one of his worst years. But that was following 4 straight seasons of 10 wins or more...having gone 10-3, 10-3, 13-1, 11-2 going backwards. And remember...back then, those totals WERE NOT enough! He was under-performing, remember? these were the years of 10 win season were ho hum unless they produced hardware...

Miles then went 9-3 in 2015...but would have been 10-3 but for the rain out against McNeese. That season LSU was ranked as high as #2 in the first CFP...and then tanked hard. But, if we're talking records and 10 win seasons he had one...again, unless you're going to be petty and suggest they'd have lost to McNeese.

When Miles was shown the door we were told we were on the cusp of greatness. It was the main things we were sold on why an in-house hire was ok. And yet, we're still waiting on anything tangible.

If Orgeron does not REALLY produce in Year 3 and there is not considerable angst within the fan base, you'll know that there has been a real change in the expectations here.

Absolutely. You made a specific claim about a specific point, and failed to produce anything

but that's all you have to do to prove a point against someone else.

Because my point involved his entire posting history

Unbelievable that has to be drawn out in stick figures for you.

Well that’s ironic.

I’m also shocked that you missed the entire point. Shocked I tell you.

Miles was 19-10 since 2014. Orgeron is 25-9 since.

This is essentially what all of these weeks long, 30+ page threads could be boiled down to. How much of a step forward the program takes this year will say a whole lot about whether O really is a viable long-term answer as our head coach. And how the fans might react to another 9-3 regular season would say a whole lot about whether or not people did move the goal posts for O. Hopefully we blow the roof off the damn thing this year and these threads and the endless back-and-forths are rendered moot.

Did I? I said you chastise people for posting the same things that you do, also know as calling you a hypocrite.

That’s a pretty broad statement Roger.

What you claimed is just as specific as what I did.

Posting a link to his entire posting history and claiming that as proof is just embarrassing. You know this, I know this and everyone else knows this. Trying to dig your way out of it is cringe worthy.

So when I post to MD on the food and drink board because his recipe for pot roast looks great, I’m diminishing the program?

When I post on the movie board about a movie I liked, I’m diminishing the program?

When I post on here about concerns regarding O’s in game coaching based on past results that aren’t flattering, I’m diminishing the program?

You completely missed the entire point of his post.

He is not saying fire O or that O is bad but relative to where Miles was since 2011 with a bunch of 10-3 seasons and leaving a lot to be desired. 10-3 seasons won't cut it w/ the fan base long term. Difference is we aren't running the toss dive every play every game now.

Hopefully O can break through the barrier. This is his year with what we return and that schedule. If we can't hit at least 11 wins with what is set up, that is major red flag.
