this is a list of his runs for the game:
1st half
16,0,1,-3,3,1,0,0,11,2,
2nd half
0,0,3,1(TD),11,3,12,-1,3,10,2,3
all this about Ware having the best hands and can throw the ball is a moot point. Ware only has 7 receptions in 7 games.

4 ypc average against SEC and OOC top ten teams that put 8 in the box and dare LSU to pass? I'm impressed. Why ya think Ware gets the ball in those situations.
Ware is the most violent runner we've had, other than Hester, since Kendall Cleveland.
Glad we have him.

I can't seem to find it, but I would love to see his yards after contact avg. Every time this guy has the ball he sheds tacklers like he just got out a Vaseline shower.

The offensive staff is hell bent on setting up the play action with little to no creativity. The same running play over and over, most of the time with no gain. Ford very rarely goes for a no gain. I can't stand it some times.
At least we have figured put how to get lee to execute a bubble screen properly

Ford is deadly on the edge, but the staff is hellbent on pounding the middle. Ware doesn't have much of a chance under the present conditions and 4 ypc is impressive considering everyone from the popcorn vender to some infant crying in the corner knows what is about to happen.

There is only one RB in the SEC that I would rather have over Ware. Ware is special. He is running into a brick wall most of the time since the defenses know LSU will run the ball.
Richardson or Lattimore? Either way, you are a homer.

too bad lattimore is out for the rest of the year and richardson will be NFL bound after this year.
ware of sure.
ware of sure.

He is running into a 8-9 man front, we are so predictable even when they stack the box, we will not audible and run up the gut. I would say not many others would have a better avg than that considering.

Ware is a very good running back, but doesn't have the greatest vision. It's good, don't get me wrong, but Ford's is significantly better.
One thing I questioned with Richardson earlier this season was his vision, but he's proven over the last 3 or 4 games to be good at it.
Ware's biggest issue is he trusts the play entirely too much and will run into his OL just for that reason. I honestly think that is one thing Les loves about him, and loved about Hester and Scott as well. They followed directions, didn't deviate/get creative, and ground out yards.
Ford, on the other hand, is more like Keiland was. More creative, would see the play be shut down and change it up (cut back the other way/bounce it to the outside/etc) and I honestly think Les hates that. It's just not his style.
Because of that, you have very good backs like Ware having lower ypc. This is in addition to lack of creative and over-conservative playcalling.
It's worked so far for this team, so can't really complain, but LSU has run the ball more than twice the number of times they've attempted a pass this season. Teams are playing on that.

Ware runs lots of times early. Sets them up for the 3/4th quarter.
Besides, he blocks the best, can catch and even throw!.
This. Ware can do it all and that to me is what makes him the #1 back on the team. Also, does anyone know what he averages after first contact. So many times this year you see him truck defenders. He was plowing LBer's against Tenn.

Then DON'T LOOK AT THE DAMN STATS...stats DO NOT TELL THE WHOLE STORY...

Which is why our passing game has been so efficient and effective, and the running game has still been solid.

Yea, you'd think they would mix it up a little given how ineffective this strategy has been and how much trouble they've had putting teams away...

This is one reason I hate looking at stats. While thiS stat is true, you can't put a value on his toughness and what he has brought to the table. Kid is running like he wants to hurt someone.
Yep, so true. His stats are not an indication of what he does on the field for LSU

When we have a dominate Time of Possession, then I am happy with the bruising, power running that LSU employs. Also, because of our ToP, we have low passing yards. Guess what? I'll take that any day. We even have incorporated a 2-quarterback system rather well.
Now Alabama will be much more difficult, but we have been building up for this game personnel-wise. Remember we are also going to pose problems for Alabama.

Has anyone even considered the fact that Ware is in his FIRST year as a running back? He played qb in high school. I'd say he's doing a Damn strong job considering Ford played rb in high school and has 4 more years experience seeing the play develop as he runs and setting up his blockers. Cut the guy some slack. He's a workhorse. Let's be glad he's on our team. I wouldn't want to try to tackle him. Would you ?
