Fielding punts inside the 10 multiple times, jumping on a ball at the end, horrible punt coverage giving State great field position several times, kick out of bounds, etc.

What the hell.

Polian needs to be moved to an analyst position, or at least somewhere where we can hide his deficiencies as a coach better. Great recruiter, not much else

Then how/why did his units perform so much better at ND? It's personnel, of course Polian deserves the responsibility but this is a massive personnel issue right now.

Did they?

ND fans told us when we hired him that he's a plus recruiter and bad ST coach.

Well, they're wrong. Excuse me if I don't base reality in the opinions of a delusional fanbase.

All true. The fact we have piss poor KO coverage and return AND punt return and coverage is inexcusable. The muffed punt was terrible and something that should have been coached into our return mens brains.

Hell we want Kayshon involved let him return KOs. Guarantee he will make the opposition pay.

Garbage and hard to watch. The missed tackles on the punt returns have to stop. You stand on the 10 if its over your fricking head you let it go, we arent building a rocket here.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. A coach can’t recruit unless he is assigned to one of the on field coaching positions.

Do you have any data to back this up?

You are the first person since we hired Kelly that I've seen say ND had good special teams

It's pretty much accepted Polian is a recruiter first, second, and third, and a coach 4th. He's like Frank Wilson, Mickey Joseph, etc.

The question is where is the best place to put these guys when the traditional roles (RBs, DL, DBs) are filled. Tim Bewster made a career out of being a "TEs coach" so maybe that's the title we can give him...but who do we fire? Cooks? Steeples? Sloane?

Why do we have lineman as the backfield blockers on punt? We use to have backup linebackers in order to have more athleticism coming down the field to tackle. Now we have frickin linemen back there.

Maybe we can do the Ed O special and hire a seasoned retired vet coach as an analyst to teach our coaches how to coach

The local media don't help with their softball questions at BK's pressers. I was waiting last night for someone to ask about poor ST play, and they didn't come close.
