Today is a great example of why there just needs to be a machine calling balls and strikes in baseball

Is there an optimal speed/angle combo that will typically result in a HR?

There is an optimal range. I just don't remember what it is.

He likes the high inside pitch to lefties. It’s the only thing remotely called consistently.

check baseball savant, it's the MLB data page. FanGraphs might have it, but it would probably be harder to find.

95+ EV, 25-35 LA

But depends on humidity, temp, wind, where at on the field but that’s a rough estimate

Thompson up to bat. Dugas at 2nd, Jones at 1st. 2 Out.

Ball in the dirt gets away, C gets a lucky bounce and guns down Dugas taking 3rd. 3 Out.

This is a fun toy on Baseball Savant. You can click on the matrix for EV and LA and it will give you the batted balls from last season in MLB.

107 and 38 degrees was a HR 73% of the time.

Tabb leading off. Little still on the mound

1-0
1-1 swing and a miss.
1-2
Strike out swinging!

LSU Broadcasting/SECN+ needs to do a better job with quicker game. They seem to miss the first pitch often.
