I was pleasantly surprised with Malone's play tonight.
I was too. I like the way Coach is playing him, and he can be a good contributor as he adjusts to the speed of the college game.
Can't wait for the tourney next week.

Just got home. After the Mickey double block, the crowd woke up. Damn exciting to hear.

i hope he gets some more outside looks, that could be huge for him to be a threat to hit one or two threes a game. if he could do that we could pull him up top clearing up the lane even more

It seemed like for a while there was a lot of sloppy play. We did win so that is a great

It was a very energetic crowd. Our style of play lends itself well to casual hoops fans.
ETA: And when Mickey swatted the ball off the cheerleader I just about lost my shite.

Malone is 7/7 on the year from the field. He is the TRUTH. FACT. Called it from day one.

Yeah bro Malone is legit he is going to take odo's place in the rotation soon, if it isn't already happening.

That's a question I was just pondering: if Mickey comes out of the game, which frontcourt is better? JOB/Odo or Malone/JOB? Obviously depends on matchups, but overall?

I thought he'd be a little bit more of a project, but I was wrong. Love his on-court demeanor.

odo hasn't been bad. He seems a bit heavy footed at times and struggles on finishing if he has the ball but he has been good on the boards and on tip ins

just back from the game.
I really enjoy watching this team play. they are exciting, talented and each player brings something to the table.
there doesn't appear to be anything that the team is just horrible at. they seem to be competent in all phases. obviously, they have a long way to go to be great but, the potential is there. even when they're struggling, the effort isn't completely bad.
coach put many different pieces together throughout the game and while some lineups worked better together, none of them were outright terrible.
I can't imagine that many teams have as much post depth and size as lsu.
if they really gel, they could end up 3rd in the conference. it just depends on how smart they play because the talent is there to hang with just about anybody not named ky or fla. this is probably going to be a fun season!

It's going to be a frustrating at times but fun as heck to watch this team this year as they develop.
I'll be the first to admit I thought Coach Jones was an on the cheap hire, but I realized I was wrong last year. Good times to come.

It's CJJ's biggest challenge to find the right roles and get everyone on board with them. The talent is there but the best mix is yet elusive.
And I agree, playing smart is key. I think if we can define and accept the best roles that will come with it, as I think there's a decent basketball IQ on the team for the most part.

Ugly, did you watch the game tonight? What did you think of Martin?
Based on his exhibition play & tonight, I'm not confident he can be a difference maker next week at the old spice. I would still want him on the floor in crunch time as long as he's not forcing like he was his first couple of games.

His first two fouls were exactly the result of this. He was trying to make the big highlight play and ended up getting two offensive fouls to him.
I think he will just continue to get better. He already had a very good shot for a forward and his athleticism is incredible.
