South Carolina- 62
LSU-69

I predicted LSU (12-3, 0-1) to lose both the Utah and Bama games, and I believe they will get back on track tonight as they host South Carolina (12-2, 1-0). Similar to LSU, the Gamecocks have padded the win column against inferior competition. They are led by an undersized guard Devan Downey (5-9, 175) who's currently averaging 19.7 ppg, 4.3 apg, 2.9 rpg, and 3.1 spg. There is no live television for this game, so please come out to support this team in a very important game!

Scoring 8 instead of 4...I will give him credit for one thing..He has great vision. He distributes the ball well. Other than that he's not a good offensive basketball player. He gets a few putbacks and can knock down the occational 15 footer but he's not a legit post player and LSU's lack of an inside game will hinder them this season.

They have to start being more consistent. Taz and Thornton are the only consistent players. Everyone else is hit or miss. They need to consistently get double figures from CJ and Bo Spencer. They need 7 or 8 a game from Temple. They also need better bench play. If you can only get 2 points from the bench your in a lot of trouble.

He had 8 versus Bama. He was good with the ball in that game. He passed well. Do you remember all these people that were convinced CJ would gain 40 pounds magically? The guy is a twig and will forever be a twig. He is soft inside. Legit post players eat him up. It's gonna be scary when LSU plays teams like Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas. The good news is that there aren't too many dominant big men in the league this year. But as we saw Sunday, Bama doesn't have a big time center and they still won the game

USC is very short. Plays basically no height.

USC starting lineup...

1 - 5'9
2 - 6'0
3 - 6'2
4 - 6'6
5 - 6'7

bingo This is a great matchup for LSU, personnel-wise. Temple will bottle up Downey and CJ should have several highlight-reel dunks.

It's pretty clear so far that this LSU team is having difficulty with size. The Utah game was a great example. I thought they'd do better against Bama, but they didn't. Home game against a decent, but smaller, team: LSU 78 - USC 67. Let's hope that this is the beginning of a run.
