Sources: the SEC is going to stick with a status quo schedule: 10 conference weekends of three-game series, normal nonconference slate.
Midweek games matter, after all

Kind of a let down after getting excited for 4 game conference weekends.

A full Saturday of baseball would have been sweet, but if it had to be 7 inning games, I'll take the 3 game series. I like the midweeks for figuring out pitching and the lineup.

I heard SEC softball was doing the same thing so I assumed baseball would as well

I understand yall saying this.
I personally feel like that extra 5 innings against the SEC is better than 9 innings against a scrub Southland or SWAC team.
I really thought I was going to hate the 7 inning double headers in the majors this past season, but I ended up being kind of okay with them.
I would prefer 4, 9-inning games.
My preference (not that anyone cares):
1. 4 nines
2. 2 nines, 2 sevens
3. 3 nines

They haven't sent out anything about season ticket renewals have they?

now we're going to have a losing record with all the midweek loses

Mid-week games give me something to do during the week that I really enjoy. So, I’m glad.

That means Johnny Wholestaff is back during the midweek

The problem I had was, what if Friday is a rain-out (not crazy in the South in May).
So now you have 2 7s on Sat and 2 7's on Sunday. I'm not a fan of that at all. Especially with the inning restrictions on Sunday games.
I would have been fine trading the midweek games for 9s on Thurs-Fri-Sat-Sun.

I agree with that. More days of baseball is better than fewer days of baseball.

We will probably see more than our usual games against in state schools. Could be some day/night double headers during the week.

Same here. I hope the sources are correct. Then we just wait to hear what they are going to do about "distancing".

Will be interesting to see who we can get for midweek games. I know a lot of the smaller conference are going to a conference-only game policy once conference play starts.

Honestly I think I missed the baseball threads more during COVID than anything else LSU sports related.
