Because he shouldn't have been in the game. On that play I thought it should have been Hilliard. That's my beef.

....and if Copeland would have scored, it would have been a fantastic play.

The Rant's hindsight is 20/20 and that's what you guys run with every time. There was nothing wrong with that play.

if miles doesn't fire stud this year, then all that will do is add to the venom, add to the fire. we absolutely need a step up in OL coaching.

Tell me how is it that Bama goes through these OL coaches and player attrition, yet there seems to never be that much of a drop off?

I have no argument for that. I agree with you 100%. Time for that guy to go.

The gameplan vs. Alabama was fine

Way too many second down runs after the first quarter. Our running game was not good after the first quarter and a half. Yet, we foolishly kept believing that by milking the clock we were helping our defense. Our mindset should have been to score, score, score because our defense is pathetic. At the very least, spread them out to run the ball because the I formation was getting stuffed.

17 points is all we scored. And this offense earlier in the year was unstoppable. The philosophical switch from a solid passing attack (remember Mett's 300 yard games?) to a run, run, pass offense has been gradual, and our offense has suffered.

But the reality is that this game was lost last year when 11 underclassmen went to the league. It's really as simple as that. We don't have the depth or talent that Alabama does.... right now. But that's about to change in a few months.

Notice that losing a ton of players to the NFL doesn't seem to affect Alabama all that much.

why? do know how many times JC has scored on a goalline FB dive?

Coming off the concussion and not playing in 3 weeks I thought Hilliard would be a better option running from the FB position.

im so sure you were yelling "OMG..why is JC in the game!!!!????" prior to the fumble.

Of course not....but I didn't think he would run the ball. I don't have a link but I thought I read that JC took himself out after that play.

true.

and the play wasn't designed to be outside. It was designed to go between the tackles and he bounced it out when the hole got stuffed.

he scores and everyone is all over his dick like they usually are.

I agree and I think that it was crap that he was benched for the rest of the game when we needed him. Why isn't Welter or Barrow or Mills and others benched for their poor play. That's what I don't understand about Miles

1000% disagree. If I teach my kid how to play ball and he goes out and doesn't do what I have taught him, every bit of that is on him. Where do you draw the line of who is responsible. The coach/teacher is NOT 100% responsible for everything.

Your main agenda is ALWAYS to deflect criticism from Miles with a few concessions along the way (fire Stut...)
Many people have pointed out that there are 4 1/2 million reasons to blame CLM for the current state of the program and the recent "unpleasantness." I would assert then that he is ultimately responsible for ALL facets of everything associated with the LSU football program....PERIOD!!!!
IMO he hasn't done much recently to earn that over-inflated salary. Too many frick-ups on and off the field....i'm not going thru the laundry list...you have read and seen the same things that I have. I'm past ready for him to start earning that salary again. There was time that he did...but not recently.

and sorry....but the players are responsible for execution

partly true...

Cam has systematically turned the offense around. And I know we have weapons, but I don't buy that the current level of production would have been had with Crowton or Stud at the helm.

Coaches are responsible for instilling a mentality. They don't execute for the players but they should demand that each player performs their own task to their maximum all the time.

And whether you like it or not, every football team has Bama as a benchmark. This is especially true for LSU since NS was the coach here for a while. The benchmark instills that mentiality and demands perfection always.

so yes, execution is partially on the coaches

ETA: I am not implying anything about JC's fumble, or anything concerning any particular play in the bama game. I am merely stating that coaches are somewhat responsible for execution

1970 LSU lost to N.D. 0 - 3
1971 Everyone stayed in to block and Bert Jones passed to Andy Hamilton all night LSU 28 N.D. 8
Do the same with Odell Beckham Jr

I could say the same about every single one of your SP posts.
Deflect and attack...I get it.
You stated earlier in another thread that if things don't pan out in 2015, you'd consider jumping off the CLM bandwagon (or some shite like this). Im not sure if you were joking or not but if you're that convinced CLM can turn it around, why make that statement in the first place.

all ya want.

Miles shouldn't get a free pass here. Of the 11 underclassmen that departed our program last year, how many were NFL ready? How many are still on NFL active rosters?

Miles should have encouraged at least 3 to 5 of these players to remain for another year and get better prepared for the NFL.

I believe the reason for so many leaving runs deeper. Do the players believe the team is capable of winning the SEC WEST, SEC Championship or another run at the BCS title? Or do they think the team will get tripped up by coaching decisions and gaffs?

Many players stay longer and graduate because they simply have the brain power to do so. Lots of the great players leave early because they don't have the fortitude or intelligence to do so. College is only a ticket to the NFL. That's why many of our superstars don't stick around. That's not Miles's fault.
