Did you criticize Saban for not getting his players motivated for Colorado State?
Did they lose to Colorado State? We're losing sight of basics if we're looking at wins and losses as the same things.

Because the coach is responsible & execution.
1000% disagree.
If I teach my kid how to play ball and he goes out and doesn't do what I have taught him, every bit of that is on him.
Where do you draw the line of who is responsible. The coach/teacher is NOT 100% responsible for everything.

Did LSU lose to Furman? Because that is what he was talking about.

fwiw, I think Chavis should be allowed 1 more year. Not sure if you caught that part.

Then you aren't teaching him right or he shouldn't be playing.

Oh, my apologies, because the same damn thing was said about Ole Miss. My point is that yes, it is human nature to not get very motivated to play certain of these games, it is also human nature to be sloppy sometimes. The same things happen to Bama, but they have a staff that pushes through that. We have a staff that talks about doing a better job after every loss that should have been a win, and yet the same damn mistakes happen again and again.

I'm sure there were a few more.

agreed, but to show no progression is a red flag, no?
I think it starts with the DL. I hope you guys don't read me wrong here. I think alot of this is Chavis not running whatever scheme to fit what he has.
The DL has absolutely zero depth this year, and yes....that's on Miles. I'll agree.
With absolutely no push, no double team requirements, the OL can move to the second level against these LB's. Add to the fact, with no QB pressure, I could sit back and pick teams apart. IMO, the problems start with the DL this year on defense and the lack of depth is on Miles. Agreed there.

how do you know? Kids have learning curves. They aren't going to be perfect 1 game in. How are you going to learn if you don't fail?

if it were always the players fault, then no coach in history would ever deserve to be fired or have criticism thrown at them, no?
i never said it was always the players fault. i just find it amazingly stupid to blame the HC because a running back fumbled
but i shouldn't be surprised considering some of the intellectual giants on this board

so you teach him how to play, just like you have done kids for years and with success, if he doesnt do what you tell him, then its the coaches fault? So you are supposed to take this kid aside and have a separate practice by himself or something.

the losses this year are absolutely player execution on offense, IMO.
The scheme and lack of depth doesn't help either....which is on the coaches. Agreed.

I guess I have beaten that horse enough, there were plenty of other errors this season to focus on.

Just my observation from the game from way up in noosebleed drizzly endzone seats: despite all the arguing back and forth now from the Miles lovers vs haters we still had a shot to cut it to a 7pt game 4th Q after OBJ return with the ball at 19 and then run 2 plays up the middle into stacked line when ODB and JL were unstoppable and everyone and their dog knows ZM has to pass so of course Bama brings the house to collapse on him 3rd and 4th! This is obviously CLM playcalling at finest and my beef with him this night. I don't make 4.5M but could call a slant or rollout or something to counter the stacked line there.
Bottom line:
21 pt loss, we are becoming comparable to Vandy, Miss St. OM to them, play tough for a while and get crushed, and please spare me the history lesson from few previous wins and CLM great record over the years we are now the 8th in SEC and almost out of top 20 in 2013 and many are looking forward to 2015 before this changes. In the meantime we have memories of 2011.
I am not advocating firing CLM since buyout would be impractical but if doesn't change by 2015 as we hope the new south expansion will look foolish and I promise you the administration will look for answers!
Just my take being season ticket holder and road follower for many years.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but Miles didn't lose this game. Granted our OL played bad the 2nd half and our fullback forgot how to pick up blocks and hold on to the ball.
bullshite. Miles' teams, except for 2011, are notorious for getting worse as the season goes on. This one is no different and that is on COACHING.

he's a fullback....and has been a fullback for quite some time now. he's also scored several TDs running that exact same play

These are the type of comments that keep me on the Rant beating my drum when I shouldn't be.
It's nothing but posts about expecting the worse. What "LSU has become" and posts about where they WILL be and WON'T be.
Drive me insane.
