I don't care what ANYONE says, you don't lose that much on defense and expect to be great

I didn't expect greatness. I keep seeing people use this line and its dumb, you act as if there is no middle ground. We shouldn't be this bad, its not acceptable. Struggles are one thing, but this defense flat out sucks.

Alabama is capable of doing it because Saban has a master, fantastic defensive scheme. He's always been known for that.

if chavis's D requires a great DL to succeed, perhaps you shouldn't have allowed yourself to go a recruiting class with 1 DL on it.

what if? coulda woulda shoulda......Les gets just has much talent as Saban. Saban is a Master at coaching....Miles is not...just good, nor CHAVIS...Freshman or not our defense backs have the talent...its the discipline.....and the little things that really matter when coaching players which are not hit upon....nor never has , since Les as been here...This is what puts Saban above Les...well, need I say more

I think it's the constant irrational downing of Miles that pits a person in the position of defending the guy.

So if it's not Miles' fault we lose, who gets the credit when we win? Miles?

When a coach admits he can't get his team motivated to play, there is a problem.

Lack of talent is not the responsibility of the head coach?

I think FSU is the better team. Honestly, IMO this is the weakest Bama team since 2010 and it's benefiting from a weak SEC. Bama was also fortunate to avoid UGA early on, bc Bama was esp vulnerable then.

In a BCSNCG, I still take Bama.

Experience in this situation can count for a lot. Bama is the 2-time defending champ that has a whole slew of 5th year seniors (including the starting QB) who have 3 rings overall. They also have the best coach in CFB, a guy who's also been there numerous times.

Believe me, it gives me no pleasure to say this. I'd rather take a shower at Penn State than pull for Alabama.

But it is what it is.

but the players are responsible for execution

At the end of the day you win as a team and lose as at team so both share fault however the coach is repsonsible for recruiting players who are capable of executing (based on the current defenisve talent I would say the staff hasn't done a good job), teaching the players how to execute, and finally holding players who don't execute accountable (seeing we constantly make the same stupid mistakes I would say the staff isn't doing a real good job of this either).

You have never played sports before if you do not think it is human nature to not get motivated to play teams that you "know" you will dominate.

Did you criticize Saban for not getting his players motivated for Colorado State?

Why don't we have the depth? Are you saying that we can't reload with top 10 recruiting classes every year. These bs excuses are fricking exhausting

I disagree to a certain extent. Execution goes back to planning & preparation. Yes the players "execute" per se. But if the planning & preparation is flawed then execution goes back on the staff.
My point is that if the staff had the team better prepared you wouldn't see fumbles, bad snaps, missed tackles, safety's way out of position etc, The lack of execution on those plays always points to issues either in the locker room or at practice.

people are acting like Miles is the first coach to be blamed if his players didn't execute.

if it were always the players fault, then no coach in history would ever deserve to be fired or have criticism thrown at them, no?
