If the Texicans drafted him, he must be GUD.

odd going to a team in a 3-4

very odd for a guy projected as a 34 OLB

I think he will become a good OLB

I hold out slim prospects for this move working out. Sam just doesn't move we'll enough. Maybe if they stripped 20 pounds off of him.

he definitely seemed faster his freshman year and with Mingo in the 4.5 range, I thought he was at the time in the 4.65 range

Sam's 40 was a 4.82. JJ Watt's 40 was a 4.84. Cone drill was .3 slower. 20 yd Shuttle .3 slower.

I was hoping Sam would go earlier, but at least pleased he was drafted today.

Right now, it looks like the Texans are a very good organization, perhaps on the way up, so I think he was fortunate to get picked by them, and they can definitely use him, whether it be at LB or DE.

Sam is capable... he ran a 4.68 first unofficial at the combine at 260+lbs. If he moves to OLB, he should trim back down to 245-250lb.

Watt is also 290 lbs not 260.

Watt's a freak, that's not the point. I'm saying Sam is not too slow, at least 40 wise, to play OLB. Whether he might be too stiff is another argument.

i dont think some of you realize how big some 3-4 OLB's are.

I agree, especially if they slim him down a bit.

Sam will be fine. Went to a good situation. And he got reunited with DJ Swearinger. They played high school together. Pretty cool

I think Sam bulked up too much for his last season. He will probably drop back down to 250 to regain some range.

Keyword some. He did well taking on blockers when he weighed 250, shouldn't be a big problem for him. He played against a lot of pretty good LT's during that time. James Harrison stays around 245. Plenty of others in the 245-255 range

Somehow I just can't see Sam running the length of the field in the Super Bowl. Maybe he'll shed some lbs and get faster.

You're the genius getting pissed off at an internet message board at 1 o'clock in the morning.
