i think the refs had some money on the first half spread or over/under. it was a couple of weird calls.

Do they have any rules in college ball about in bounding from directly under the goal? I know it is not allowed at the amateur level. That is the only thing I can think of.

That's the problem when blacks are just genetically athletically superior to whites.

On the other hand...

I was gonna mention the ref was black also. I think the problem we have is that most refs are hoping to make calls, especially if they are rare calls, instead of calling the game legitimately as it happens. Dickhead Freddy valentine is THE WORST at this.

To my downvoter. Are you really gonna double down on something that is recorded for posterity and easily searchable online?

And that is over and above watching 40 minutes play and not noticing the white ref.

Then again I guess that means he did a really good job.

After re-watching the game it is correct that Gaines was off the court when he inbounded the ball. However, after the GA Tech breakaway basket the ball remained inbounds and Gaines never brought it back over the end line. He pulled it toward his body quickly and then punched it inbound to a teammate. That was probably the reason for the call.

These kind of technical violations occur several times in most games and the officials will ignore it as long as it does not give the team an advantage such as when the defense is challenging the inbound.

Is there a specific rule regarding inbound play where the ball itself has to cross over the Outabounds line?
