I made a comment after the A&M game that somebody in the LSU administration needs to figure out a way to fill in the big gap of seats under the scoreboard that remain unfilled for most games. Low and behold, for the Arkansas game, those seats were filled up with fans. I don't know who they sold those tickets to, or what they did to fill it up, but that eye sore was taken care of, even with a lower than usual student section turnout.

It had nothing to do with it being the last home game of the season.

IDK how they did it. Those sections are part of the student section yet they were packed while lower parts of the student section had many empty seats. Whatever they did, they need to keep doing it.

Those seats are for Law Students. If they have exams they dont go to the game. Those seats are paid for already by those students/seaseon ticket holder. You really think the admin went and took tickets aweay from students then opened them up to the pucblic??? Freak you people are insane.

Really? So you are telling me that when students enter the stadium they ask, "Are you a law student? Well in that case, you must go sit up top."

Most of the people sitting in those seats Friday were older. Those seats were sold to general public.

They always sell the remainder of the student tickets for the Arkansas game that students don't buy to the general public

Unless that's changed since last year, those seats (directly under the scoreboard)aren't reserved. They're open for anyone to sit in. I did it for plenty of games.

If I recall correctly, LSU gives students the option of including the Arkansas game in their package or not. Some students know they'll be going home for thanksgiving and won't be back, so they don't buy the tickets. Then the school has more tickets open up for the general public.

Can any current students say if that's still the case?

That was just the student section trying to stay in the Sun.

This. When students buy their season tickets, they can choose to goto the Arkansas game or not, since most will be home for the holiday.

LSU then sells them to the general public and the L club.

They should do this for more games....

They've done it the past few times we've played Arky at home because they know a ton of students go home for the holiday.

I noticed that at the time. Odd.

Perhaps, due to the holiday, fewer student tickets were available for that game. We would have never noticed before, since in 2007 & 2011 we were sitting at #1 and the stadium was completely full. But clearly when the students didn't show up for this one, the gaps weren't in those sections.

Most of that would make sense, because those seats were filling up well before kickoff.

Maybe they should look into doing this for more than just the Thanksgiving game, so that we won't have that large block of empty seats below the scoreboard for many games.

Don't they sell these seats to the public every time we play Arkansas the day after Thanksgiving?

My ex was a law student. She held her nose up so high at everything, had she sat up there she'd have bumped the Goodyear blimp.

The students have an option to purchase that final game at the beginning of the year. As someone mentioned before many don't buy the ticket because they know they will be gone and even those who did buy the ticket were more likely to stay home since the game didn't have as much luster as it normally does.

They should sell tickets that are already sold?

those seats are sold and the students that have them are likely in the stadium.

Ever noticed how dense the student section looks? Its because they pack 30 in a row designed for 20

everyone wants to be by their friends

thats why there is always a gap there

I love this excuse from the students. Y'all act like nobody else has ever sat in the student section. The large gaps haven't always been a problem. The reality is they probably need to downsize by about 4-5,000 seats.
