Balestra is the poster child for why it is so difficult to evaluate and thus recruit OL.

Was an undersized OG who now looks like a prototypical OT... without the benefit of years at a P5 school. Don't get me wrong, he isn't an all-world prototypical OT. But his transformation is worthy of great respect.

It took a combination of genetics and effort... a lot of effort... to get there, but he got there.

Mark my words, we will need him at some point in the season- and he'll come through. He puts in work like a starter being threatened by the bench. Which is exactly what you want from your bench. Don't be surprised to see him as relief all over the place.

I hope Mata plays just because of his uniqueness. I wonder if he could get any solid NI

Highland Coffee could sign him to promote their yerba mate.

53 played the entire game with the 2's he is a true center

If he’s a true center why weren’t we trying him there in the spring game? It’s our weakest position on the line

Turner looked better than years past.

That doesn't make him a starting OL; he'll get dominated in the SEC.

Martinez or Dellinger should be the starting Center. They both need to get healthy and get their butts back out on the field..........

I'm not as sure of that as you are, but I am indeed skeptical of Turner. Very skeptical that he's where we need him to be.

Agreed. It may be some bias based on histrionics but I see Dellinger as the next Pocic where he can be C, OG, or OT (we need 3 very solid of those by the way).

Looked up Mata. He was kicking 50+ in high school

Also both his kickoffs, out of the back of the end zone

I think a bit under the radar as it looks he didn’t do all those kicking
Camp/rating things

Smart one too. “Civil Engineering “
You know those ND coaches loving that
