seriously .. you don't understand UM football
And you don't understand what I am saying. Even though the Miami fans might not be melting down over Shannon's coaching performance. The same performance could not be acheived in our conference, but even if it could; our fan base would be ready to send him down the street.
Also, last year there was talk about the fan base being unhappy with the direction he had the program. This year, it seems to be a little less noisy because it does look better.
If I am correct the whole point was Miami didn't do to bad in hiring Shannon after they canned Coke, because Shannon has done a decent job. My statement still stands, decent would not be good enough for LSU.

no, i understand exactly what you are saying ... but what i am saying is that in this particular case, all things are not equal so a proper comparison between the two programs can't really be made at this point ... i understand your point completely and it would be a valid one if all things were equal ..

no more than you obviously hate saban for leaving ..
didn't hate him at all. Didn't care for his "me first " attitude.
I just hope when and if LSU gets a new coach, some of you guys give him a chance. I'm concerned many of you are so ga-ga over Saban that after the new guy's first game a lot of you will be all over him.

miles had a horseshoe in his arse .. in no other season since the inception of the BCS could a 2-loss team have even sniffed a shot at the NC ... EVERYTHING fell into place beautifully for it to happen .. the planets had to align and they did ..
So, why didn't they align for anyone else?

also shannon has ties to the program .. he was a long time assistant and part of their glory years ... if miles had those types of ties at LSU when he got the job people would be a little softer on his at this point ... also, miles is making a shite ton more money than shannon is .. LSU season tix cost a shite ton more than miami tix do .. the LSU athletic department budget would swallow miami's and shite it out .. etc.

Maybe we should hire your coach or even you. What say you?
let's leave the 2nd grade rhetoric out of it and just not post a response if that is the best you have ..
Anwser the question. You post constantly. You've never been around football sans the stands or internet.
Bet you and Egg had the same ballet coach.

it's not that some are "ga-ga" over saban in as much as it is hard to refute and ignore what he did for this program ... following the SEC title in 1961 .. LSU football was in and out of the national conversation here and there, but for the most part, we were second class citizens, certainly not a perennial top five program in stature ... saban changed all of that and now we are on the national tongue .. miles is slowly and methodically dismantling it ... when you see the success that saban has gone on to have at alabama, you just can't discount how great of a HC the guy is ... miles came here with a very parochial/average track record ... most people feel that, starting last season, he is now playing with his OWN players and is currently 16-8 and 7-8 in the SEC with such, that's all ...

Unfortunately the coach that follows a great coach is usually under appreciated, regardless of what he does or does not accomplish. The team usually has to hit bottom or near bottom before a new coach can come in and stop getting compared to the "love that was lost".
It sucks, but it is true (most of the time)

Ok, in 2003 we lost to an unranked Florida at home and nearly blew it at Ole Miss. One could say Oklahoma was overrated and USC should have been in that game. In addition, we also played Oklahoma on our "home turf." Either both are clear National Championships or both are tainted. Pick your poison and be consistent.
Not really equal. Only had 1 loss in 2003. We had a much harder road in 2003 than in 2007 as well. Beat a very good UGA twice, once omn their home turf. 2003 OU >>>>>>> 2007 OSU. Best team we played all year in 2007 was UF and they ended up with 4 losses that season.
Posted on 11/25/09 at 10:13 am to Me4Heisman
not to mention, OU had the heisman trophy winner at QB and was a machine, steam rolling the shite out of people until the big 12 title game .. the OU team we beat in '03 would have smoked the '07 ohio state team we beat ..

Best team we played in 2007 was Virginia Tech and we beat them 48-7 as they went on to the Orange Bowl.
Newsflash: Saban isn't coming back to LSU.

absolutely .. they were the ACC champs .. that win is literally THE sole reason we jumped from #7 to #2 after the pitt upset ..
Posted on 11/25/09 at 10:18 am to I-59 Tiger
And they play in the ACC, lost to us, Boston College and got beat by Kansas in the Orange Bowl. Florida would have easily handled VTech that year. And yeah I know Florida lost to Michigan in the Cap1 Bowl.
