4. Which LSU bowl games have been rematches of a regular season game?

Ole Miss - Sugar Bowl - 1959 Season

Notre Dame - Indy Bowl - 1997 Season (had to look up year on this one)

Bama - BCS CG - 2011 Season

(ETA: Winner of regular season game lost the bowl game in all 3 of these, and 2 regular season games considered 2 of the greatest of all time.)

I have a feeling there are others.

#2 is South Carolina. We have played Clemson and USC(e) in bowls.

Coastal Carolina is now an FBS school.

Most points total-I think 80 (can't remember the final score, it was something like 47-33 LSU beat Illinois in the 2002 Sugar.

I think the Texas Tech game was 57-27 or something like that.

84 points?

2) Iowa.

LSU played Iowa twice in the Outback Bowl and Iowa State in the Sun Bowl.

3) I don't recall the scores but Penn State has beaten LSU twice in low scoring bowl games. One recent and the other in the Orange Bowl back in the early 70's

9) I'll guess Tennessee. LSU lost the Liberty Bowl to Baylor in 1985 and recently lost to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl.

Out of what hasn't been answered

#9 has to be Tennessee. The Liberty Bowl has always been a disaster for LSU then they lost the 2014 Music City Bowl.

#6 is probably the toughest one because it's so obscure. At least I know they got a safety last season in the Citrus Bowl and LSU lost to TCU 3-2 in their first Sugar Bowl so that's two.

I'm also gonna go with Texas on this one. I dont know if we played Baylor, but I know we played A&M, Texas, TCU, and Texas Tech.

I have a feeling youre forgetting at least 50% of the FBS schools in Texas.

Thats a big state. It sure as hell isnt Texas. Its probably a southern state with only 2 FBS schools.

Maybe South Carolina (Clemson & South Carolina)???

ETA: Question #2 btw

ETA Again: I see others then confirmed SC. Thats what I figured!

Oklahoma in 1950 Sugar: 0-35 (biggest loss).

Also 1965 Sugar. LSU tackled Syracuse QB Walley Mahley in his end zone for a safety, to narrow the margin in the 1st half to 3-2

Correct.

South Carolina

Coastal Carolina is now in FBS, so incorrect. The correct answer is Iowa, as someone posted.

Penn State. 1974 Orange 16-9; 2010 Capitol One 19-17

Correct.
quote:

5. What are the fewest and most points scored by both teams combined in an LSU bowl game?

Fewest: 0 1947 Cotton Bowl. Most 81 2002 Sugar

Partially correct. 1947 Cotton was the fewest, but Texas Bowl vs. Texas Tech was the most with 83 (56-27).
quote:

6. In which five of its bowl games has LSU recorded a safety?

1936 Sugar,1962 Orange, 1974 Orange, 2016 Citrus

All four of those are correct, and LSU also recorded a safety against Syracuse in the 1965 Sugar Bowl.

Correct.

You got 7 correct, 2 partially correct and only one incorrect. Outstanding effort!

At-KANsas, USCe, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missour, a7m, and Tennessee. Can add GaTech as a former SEC school LSU has played in bowl games.
