badcallagain made a bad call again. Predicted LSU would win "big" against a really bad Texas Tech team that went 0-5 in the tournament and will finish in the bottom of the Big 12. 2-0 ain't exactly big.

But, Beth now has something to hang her hat on.

This team isnt gonna win big in most of their games this year unfortunately. They will probably have breakout games from time to time (see OSU) but its gonna be a grind to score runs this year.

Kilponen pitched a complete game and had 8 strikeouts she has a 0.88 ERA on the season

LSU had 7 hits in the game to Tx Tech's 3

A must needed win for this team. Softball like baseball is a head game.

Okay, we went 2-3 this weekend and I know, woulda coulda shoulda, but we should have beaten Notre Dame.

Nice win vs OKST, though Washington and Michigan just dusted us off. This team can compete with top teams at least a good bit of the time.

Our normal “good but not good enough” since 2017 has been finishing around .500 in SEC, hosting and winning a regional and losing a super at home or on the road.

I think this year we are going to have to play over our heads—and coaching—to reach even that standard. I think unless a tremendous number of light switches flip on, this team finishes bottom third in SEC, travels to a regional and doesn’t make it out.

If that is the case, I think the very least that should happen is SW has a come-to-Jesus meeting with Beth and tells her: “Fire your hitting coach. Or I’ll fire him for you.”

Why can’t we get these girls to hit. Look at all thier past history . Everyone of them have hit leading up to LSU .

A win is a win. Hopefully there was something to the stomach virus and jet lag and we see better play as the year wears on.

We are sloppy at takeoff at the plate. Leads to inconsistent contact. Some of our big hitters have way too much up-angle through the zone, also leading to inconsistent contact. A couple stay on the back foot almost entirely through the swing. Leads to lots of pop up or topping so many balls and pounding into the ground.

It’s frustrating to watch. You can’t hit high level pitching with this approach. Hope they make the changes soon. I enjoy watching college softball, when there is no college baseball on and when LSU is good it makes it so much more fun.

Not saying it was jet lag but LSU traveled to Florida on the same day the women's basketball game inside a gym in Mississippi was delayed 1 1/2 hours.

Oklahoma State, who LSU run-ruled, just beat Northwestern. Northwestern had been undefeated in the tournament - including a win against #3 UCLA.

Because they implemented a launch angle approach to hitting in order to hit more HR's. The issue is it leads to inconsistent contact and a lot of pop ups.

As I have said for a while now, the defense is more worrisome to me than the hitting (which always struggles). If you can’t make an easy play to get an out you are doomed to fail.

Clarks missed catch at first was a play a 10 year old should make

Peterson had a missed easy play at 2b that for some reason wasn’t called an error

Missed foul pop catch by Cummins is a play a 10 year old should make.

Missed pop up catch by Coffee is an error a 10 year old should make

While it took a bad hop, if Pleasants would have charged that ground ball to get it just when it comes up from the ground, she could have made that play. Pleasants rarely charges the ball, but sits and waits for it. That is a play Amber Serrett would have made. Serrett was a beast defensively.

If you can’t hit, you better play good defense and this defense is pathetic

This team needs a Mulkey type coach! No energy displayed...they should be excited about the beginning of the season. Hopefully, the chemistry will come!

Their flight was so delayed they didn't get to Florida till 3am the morning of their first game on Friday. Short turn arounds all weekend plus an apparent stomach bug going around the team is enough to explain away why they looked so miserable out there. If only they looked good last week this weekend could be written off, except they didn't so this weekend only added to the list of problem areas.

Just more excuses for Beth to use to explain why she didn't have her team ready to play this year.

After we had that big 1st inning against ND I thought we had this one in the bag. But no such luck as the bats went silent the rest of the game. Just have to find some punch somewhere.

Hope that early season defensive woes and offensive woes don't carry too far into the season! Otherwise, they may be in for a mediocre season! Need a wake up call and some fire from Torino!
