As a matter of general principle, I root against Ole Miss...but this week I totally hope they dominate their regional and shut the ULL people up.

As for LSU, they could not have asked for a better draw. I am not saying it is easy...but it sets up about as well as could be hoped for.

--The regional doesn't have exceptional pitching...La Tech might actually have better pitchers than Texas Tech.

--They avoided having to play a super-regional at Florida or Alabama, who clearly have pitchers that we don't need to face again any time soon

--They are paired with a regional where the home team has a decent chance to lose, thereby opening the door to host a super regional next week. Georgia is playing very well right now, and even Drake is a tough out in that regional

--Even if Minnesota does win and LSU has to go up there, beating them will be tough, but not un-doable...kinda like Florida State the last couple years.

I believe they got what they wanted.

If they hosted they would've been 15 or 16 having to face OU or UCLA at SuperRegionals.

With a possible upset over Ole Miss they would face Arizona who did in fact take the series over UCLA but they do have a few nobody loses.

Another win for them is not being in the LSU regional. Things tend to get ugly in that ball park with Tiger and Cajun fans.

This good for the recognition and everything. But I was very surprised when I saw A&M on my TV screen last night. They barely have a winning record.

I hope they go to Austin and take the regional but I think it is more likely that they go 2 and BBQ.

I don't think A&M has the pitching to possibly win a regional. Would love to see them take out Texas though. Their bats aren't that potent to where that itself could carry them. Its going to take a complete team effort and likely a lot of breaks for them. They did show fight and upset Arkansas, stole games from LSU and Alabama.

On a side note looking at the rest of the regionals. I have to say the Northwestern regional is a complete joke with those teams... Northwestern will have to face OU if they do move on though.

The Minnesota regional IMO is the most difficult regional. Georgia ended the year hot with their pitching settling in. Drake's ace pitcher has like 400 K's and an ERA below 1. NDSU is a team who probably should have been a 3 seed in a regional, not a 4. That regional could go every which way to be honest. I will definitely be watching that one closely.

It would definitely be great for a team other than Minnesota to emerge.

I haven't looked at the other teams in that regional, thanks for the breakdown.

I also have mixed emotions about BYU making the tournament. Their record is one game better than A&M's without having to play in the SEC.

I do like the fact that since they are playing that their regional will start Thursday rather than like all the other regionals that start Friday. The more softball the better.

But If I was on the committee I would have left them out because of their record and probably because of the requirement they bring with them of when the games have to be played.

It does look like that is the case.

Three of the teams have over 40 wins and Georgia has 40. I don't think any other regionals come close to matching that.

It really looks like a toss-up. Minnesota is 0-5 vs the SEC this year so the team with the worst record (Georgia) has as good a chance as any to win the regional.

LA Tech is coming in winning 8 of their last 9 since the tornado. Team is motivated and playing with a lot of heart. Could be a tough game for the 2 seed come Friday.

Cajuns have a gaudy record, albeit against a weak conf and schedule.....I hope they win at Ole Miss, in honor of coach’s daughter who’s life was taken too early in that crash on I-10. Her dad is the HC and that had to be a big blow for the family.

Amanda Sanchez is fine. She had dealt with back spasms on and off but that hasn’t been anything new for her.

Like I said. I hope the girls can use the Monmouth game to get their swag and big swings back again. LSU has been in a funk but to be fair, their last 4 games were against Alabama and then against barnhill. Some of the last teams you want to face trying to get out a slump. I believe the girls can make a big run. Everything is set up for them to do well in the post season. Our seniors need to step up and lead. I’m sure Torina will have them ready!

More encouraging, Wickersham and Sunseri have settled in. I think we pitch gorsuch first game then ride Sunseri and Wickersham the rest of the way!
