So why didn't we run Emery?

He has the best game of his carrier the week prior and clearly distanced himself as the best rb on the team. Then is rewarded with a couple swing passes that get him killed and like 2 carries and why wasn't he on that last goal line series? Also, why did we decide to turn into full air raid and not run the ball last week?

Agree completely. He needs to be involved more.

We seem to have evolved into a full air raid offense.

Coach O said this morning "Chris Curry is the starter and he was back this week, so we wanted to play him." I nearly threw up hearing him say that. Feels like we're forcing guys to play because they "earned" it rather than playing guy who play well.

Seems like some Les Miles garbage...playing politics instead of your best player.

There should be no "starter" play the best guy. period.

Emery is clearly our best back and should get the bulk of the carries. However... The run blocking was terrible and trying to be balanced would have scored less points Saturday.

do yall remember this time last year people were questioning why the freshmen weren't playing over CEH? I tend to trust the coaches when it comes to who is our best back. There is more to rb than rushing yards. I was unhappy with our running game as a whole...again we were disappointed with our rushing attack at this point last year also.

Because by the time his turn came around in the (apparent) unchangeable rotation LSU had started to throw the ball every play.

I don't mind rotating guys in throughout the game (particularly in the first half). But sometimes the situation dictates staying with one guy longer. Emery is clearly the best back at finding space that isn't directly in front of him. He should have been getting the bulk of the carries to start the game. If he was ineffective or another guy came in when it was his turn to play, then fine, make a change. But when he was the only RB to have success in your first 3 games, it doesn't make much sense to move him back to the 3rd team guy.

One troubling thing I'm starting to see is that TDP seems to have trouble picking up the tough yards. I saw that last year as well.

We need a tighter rotation at running back. Someone's feelings are going to be hurt, but no one is going to get in rhythm rotating the way we did it against Miss St and Mizzou. And while I don't necessarily feel we need a balanced attack, we definitely need to commit to running the ball more especially since Brennan doesn't have the wheels to improvise with his legs.

Commit to someone and rotate the others in sparingly.

Looked like offensive line could not successfully run block and get a push off the line.

If I was O I could think of 7 million reasons that I would be playing Emery at least until he shows that he shouldnt...

Also, why doesn't LSU run outside of the tackles? It seems every outside run Emery or Price has goes for about 8+ yards.

Emery is not the every down guy. I still think davis is the best back on the team

Yep using his logic if coach O was the Patriots coach, he would have put Bledsoe back in as soon as he returned from injury instead of sticking with Brady.

Didn’t matter who we put out there. Our OL wasn’t getting a push.

I tend to agree. The rotation at RB as well as receivers seems to just be awkward. Makes zero sense to me.
