So, where is the bar set for 2019?

With the amount we have returning, and clearly our QB hitting his stride, I have to think it’s winning the conference, right?

When is this not part of the goals? This should be a goal every year.

Not talking goals. Talking expectations. Big difference, unfortunately.

we were not expected to win the SEC this year.

you think the only way we have a great year is to win the conference? Bama at Tuscaloosa with Tua is pretty tough to knock off...Im sure the team and fans goal is to win the west though

11-1

Even with a loss to Alabama that still puts us top 5 and right at the CFP.

Even if we’re left out I would still feel the staff got this team to their potential.

ETA: Not saying we don’t have the POTENTIAL to win them all but I haven’t put beating Alabama on the road as a reasonable goal for years so not going to start now. If the game were at home, I’d say this should be the year given the talent we have, just like I said before 2016 for Miles.

When does the talk shift from building on the big bowl win to no depth, rebuilding year, next year U?

You guys keep misquoting me. I’m asking where the bar should be set, as it relates to expectations. With what we have returning, and finally a QB, I think many will expect to win the SEC. I am in that camp.

Winning the conference???....we're gonna' have to beat Bama to do that....I'd say 10-2 would be good....Texas is no joke and A&M will be better....

I’m jaded too baw

But IMO there are no excuses next year. This team is loaded with talent and we should be able to beat bama and anyone else.

Pathetic. We are just as talented as bama in terms of personnel, particularly with additions on the OL this class.

Anyone expecting 10-2 and a loss to bama has to ask themselves why the narrative has shifted with a new HC.

My guess is 9-3 will be the most popular prediction for LSU next season from the media.

10-2 or 11-1 from the majority of the fanbase.

No more than 1 regular season loss.

Anything else is sub par to me.

I don't expect to win the sec...I expect to be more competitive with bama though.

11-1 and losing to bama would still be fine. But honestly another 9 won regular season and fiesta bowl should be considered unacceptable, particularly to the larger donors.

That’s the same results Miles was achieving.

I disagree.

The media was way off base on this team this year, we all knew that, and they won’t make that mistake again.

With Burrow showing out and coming back and the recruiting class coming in, we’re going to be a popular dark horse team to challenge Bama.

LSU will be favored in all games besides bama

Texas will be a tight spread on the road so I’ll call that a 50/50 game

Right now? Playoffs no doubt, but that is a long way away. Personally I would love for us to win like those assholes to the east won in 2011, losing then beating them. However I do not think our schedule is strong enough next year for us to do that.

I would never say the bar is an undefeated championship season as that is unrealistic, but I certainly believe it is very possible.

I agree with that. I don’t expect to beat them. But I do expect to compete. Another shutout or dominant loss would be terrible.
