I think he shouldve gotten meaningful playing time this year. We had enough blowouts to get him in.

I don't think you'll be jumping. Thought he did great before he took a knee at Ole Miss.

My honest opinion is that he is a pretty arrogant kid that thinks pretty highly of himself. Hopefully he has he skills to back it up. He will be in Les' doghouse plenty over the next 2 seasons.

My guess is once he starts playing qb on tv, and saturday nights in Tiger stadium.... and LSU is rolling again, he wont have any problem with tits, or anything else of that nature!!! Ole football groupies!!!

We will now see what a real offense can do.

You thought our running game was good before, wait until the defense actually has to respect the passing game. From Kiki Mingo himself "Kenny Hilliard could win the Heisman before he is done".

You thought OBjr is a talent, wait until he gets a Qb who can actually hit him in stride, this guy may draw Josh Reed comparisions.

Prepare for the pass-catching TE to return to the LSU offensive scheme, which adds so much flexibility to our offense.

The future is bright for LSU. Assuming we can step back from the ledge many are currently perched on..

This.

My honest opinion is hope and anticipation toward seeing a QB who is completely unproven in guiding an elite SEC team throughout a whole game, let alone a whole season.

In the spring game and his film, I was most impressed with his pocket presence, field vision and composure. These to me are the differentiating qualities of a strong performing QB, along with decision making. Of course, in his case, he not only has the prerequisite arm strength, accuracy and touch, but has above average of all of these qualities.

Since the spring game, I have had Tommy Hodson in my mind. He does not look anything like Hodson as a person, but as a QB he looks to have very similar attributes with more of a gun to go along.

I am seriously pumped about this cat..errr, Tiger

What is obvious to the world will be of no impact on Miles.

If any coach knows how to waste talent on offense, it is Miles.

The problem is not is he talented but will Les Miles utilize his talent and let him play the game accordingly. Miles has "BigTenitis" and can be stopped when you make LSU pass the ball.

Listen closely to the posts of Gary Crowton about how much Les overrode his decisions while at LSU. Glad Crowton gone but Les has to trust his OC and let them call the game.

Monday was an embarrassment to all true Tiger fans and we hold Les accountable and he is now ducking s and not giving us the straight answers we need. Just more of that horse=shite double speak he thinks is so damn cute.

I've spent quite a few hours watching film on Mett from his juco days. The main thing you see is that he rarely makes a bad decision and has almost Purdue Drew Brees (his hiesmen contending days) accuracy. He reads defenses well as identifying pressure and checking out of plays. The one knock on him is he has a tendency to trust his arm a little too muh and force some balls into coverage. He got away with it in juco it's just a question of if he can at this level. The other thing we have to take into consideration is that Keil is coming in and this kid would have been a potential starter at a lot of schools and may be here. I think the competition is going to push Mett to get even better and he'll come into his own as an SEC qb.

The other thing I like about him is he is a leader. It may be seen as arrogance but that's what you need in a strong leader. You need a guy who will look at the huddle and say "we're gonna score right now". The fact that he came out and said that as of jan 10th LSU is his team speaks volumes of the leader this kid will be.

He better live up to the hype, or LSU fans will tear him apart.

Metterberger may have more pressure on him than any other player in LSU history. He's expected to be the savior of a team that went 13-1 in 2011 and played in the national championship game. Hope he can handle the heat.

He won't win 4 National Championships while at LSU so some of the most vocal "fans" will crucify him. He'll probably leave "early" after 2 years causing many of the same idiots to complain about how he never lived up to the hype.

no one really knows his ability or how he will be used.
he came in in the NW game and threw 8 of 11 passes.
...seemed to make his decisions quickly.

guttata, you are a wise man. The only way you can make a winner out of a kid like that is to boot camp him, and inject the discipline that his parents failed to give him.

I don't know if it's true, but the rumor was that his bootleg against ole miss was ad libbed. This will be his downfall if he doesn't make it.

I think teams better respect our passing game next year. Ole Miss game proved he'll change the play. I would consider him very confident but not arrogant, he trusts his own reads and judgements. He'll audible out of a play then come to the sideline and look the coach square in the eyes and tell him exactly why.
