Yes, there is. There is tons of data on criminal acts and results. The federal government maintains servers full of these types of statistics. In the US, about ten percent of robbery and robbery attempts end with physical harm to the victim(s) and over five percent end with the victim being killed.

If someone has a gun pointed at them it’s perfectly logical to assume that the person is going to use it.
CEH made a tough decision and he handled himself correctly.

CEH may need to upgrade his arsenal if the would be robber has friends , esp if they're gang related . Lots of great firearms available to anyone who feels the need for protection . In Scotlandville there's probably not a lot of unarmed young men , trouble was & should have been expected . The result was a known possibility , or the Tiger athletes wouldn't have been armed.
