So the Hawaii guy with 1k yds,

Is he considered a lower tier guy who got targeted a lot, or someone who was P4 level playing against lesser talent?

thank you for saying "our WRs" instead of the cool and trendy "WR room."

I’m glad I’m not the only one. The whole “room” thing is stupid.

Ha
17 downvotes because I asked about our WRs??

Tough crowd. I guess discussing the upcoming team is off limits?

I'm asking, because we've had studs almost every year since Wendell Davis. For the first time in what seems like forever, I haven't heard much about anyone outside of Green, technically a TE, and this with Kiffin (offensive genius) taking over. Was curious who people expect to be catching the passes, and why.

He's probably one of the more underrated targets Kiffin hit in the portal. Not sure how that guy wasn't rated higher. Between him and the Wisconsin Rb I'm pretty sure we're going to be saying "steal".

A lot of talent, with a lot of hope that they will be a productive group. But I do think Tre'dez is going to be the X-Factor.

So, this guy Is that a one-off, or do we expect to see a lot of him next year?
Jabari Mack is a freshman but looks polished in every video I’ve seen of him. It will be hard to keep him off the field, imo. He’s one of those guys that might be buried behind depth early, but will earn his playing time throughout the year.

My mind wants to be lazy and go to a Jefferson comparison because of the Destrehan pipeline, but I believe Mack has those talents and has that same Louisiana dog in him that maybe some OOS transfers might not.

We usually do.

Past couple seasons, after Nabers and Thomas left, not so much.
It feels weird that we've been doing portal the past couple years. Don't know if recruiting under Kelly was just that bad, or if it were a dry spell for La recruits. But it seemed like everyone we put on the field came out of the portal, except for Hilton (and he didn't pan out).

I hope we get one of the freshmen to emerge.

Man I really gotta do some roster studying to learn all these cats. Seems like things are moving twice normal speed lately.

What the frick are you bitching about?

First time in a long time, we dont have any established WRs coming back. I asked about the new guys. It's fricking summer, what else is there to post about?

Apparently you missed last season. Because I didn’t see not one stud WR on our offense. Not even close really. Maybe Anderson when he was healthy. And don’t even say Green because he was listed as a TE that we never utilized.

And as far as this years WR group, all I know is the talking LSU podcast heads seems to think this room is loaded. Much improved from last years group. But it’s just one of those wait and see things. But I will say that this group will look a lot better simply because of the offensive system Lane runs and the fact that Lane and Weiss will know exactly how to scheme and get the most out of every WR unlike Burger King.

I was
Y'all know 90% of info on LSU sports teams comes out here first, because someone here knows and will post things other than coachspeak.

Like my OP stated, I didn't know if I had missed anything since we signed guys.

Jeez, this place used to be more than bitching.

Nah. I saw last year, and you're right. I'd say 24, too.

Portal guys, instead of the traditional LSU stud recruits.

Re Green, he was both under used, and had some bad drops. I hope he cleaned that up, because he'd be a game changer.

Man, I hope one of the freshmen breaks out. We need to see some more of the traditional LSU 1st rd talent at that spot.

Ok, give me some names. Not that I'm doubting (I don't know, which I why I asked).

Who should I look for to start, who should be the #1 target, the primary deep threat, etc.
It’s sad as hell that you have all those posts and you don't know a basic thing like who the top WRs are for LSU.

I'll break it down simple.

Jackson Harris is similar to Brian Thomas Jr. Big and fast and great in contested catches.

Jayce Brown is Malik Nabers, but not as tough. They use him all over including a couple run plays, one that he housed 70 yards out. He's got speed to burn too and a top athlete.

Winnie Watkins is likely our starting slot guy. He has the most experience with Kiffin's scheme. Very good athletic and well rounded player. He's going to be Mr reliable.

Eugene Wilson is a very shifty cat. If he can stay healthy, he's definitely capable of playing a Zavion Thomas role.

Jabari Mack, the freshman, I think he can peak his head out and have a role for us. He's already had some real good spring plays.
