Really reaching for the bottom of the barrel here. How many runs we plan on putting up tonight?

Jay will trot AE out there.
Really hope it doesn’t come to this. Would love to have both AE and KA available for next weekend on full rest. Seems extremely unlikely this team beats WV if it doesn’t sweep the first two games, so the two starters need to be in optimal form.

I’m particularly concerned about the ability of these pitchers to throw strikes.

Some of this will rely on which ump is behind the plate

We could REALLY use the guy from Game 1 tonight. He’s the only one who’s had a consistent and typical zone. The ump in Game 2 squeezed the frick out of everyone and last night’s was a fricking grab bag on the corners and high.

That said, Anderson took being squeezed and just dealt with it. Shores folded up after one tough AB that resulted in a walk and then walked two more without even being competitive. Our guys tonight have to be mentally tough enough to flush a bad walk or hit and move on to the next batter.

The strike zone definitely changed in the 3rd inning last night - Shores got squeezed and he could not handle it. I'm definitely not saying that the umpire cost us the game or even a bunch of walks, but that guy was not good back there. Very inconsistent - he was basically all over the place half inning to half inning starting in the 3rd.

I’m with you. Two things can be true at the same time. The ump was erratic and it bit LR a few times too. But it’s on Shores for folding over one fricking batter the way he did.

But right now you cant trust him especially in tonight's game with everything on the line. Maybe next year you can trust him but for this year no he's not trustworthy.

This is a stupid take!
We had double digit walks!
They scored 10 runs on 8 hits… because of Free passes.

Yes LSU HAS to hit better, and left far too many on base. But, the pitchers giving up double digit walks absolutely put us behind.
