Makes it a security nightmare signed 9/11 most stadiums became off limits for good reason. Prior to then it wasn't uncommon for students to have fun with their significant others on the 50.

Did your wife "thank" the players?
She was about to but I told her we had to get on back to my mom's house for dinner.

The basketball team was training? Story is false. Fake news!

Similar experience at Doak Campbell several years ago but didn't get caught or locked in.

I used to eat lunch pretty often in the north scoreboard a couple years ago with some friends. That is a great view of BR, the river, campus.

Few years back my son had a baseball tournament in Austin. I had 4 of the boys , 12 years olds, and went out for dinner. By luck we passed ut stadium and we saw a gate open and we walked in and walked the field looking up at the giant tv in the end zone. We took pictures and left without damaging anything. We still talk About how cool that was. I don't know if that gate stays open for fans to walk in or not but noticed cameras everywhere so I guessed we were being watched without being approached.

moscona's solution is to just leave the stadium open and let anyone who wants to wander in, do so with no penalties.

Which is how it used to be and many other universities do it. I do wish we could do this. My kids want to go into the stadium every time we come to BR.

The gate was wide open. Turned out there was a pickup truck pulled right inside the gate and parked and some workers working in a room right to the left on the inside. I just walked on in,
This scenario has played out for me and my family 3-4 times over the years. One of those times, a groundskeeper even acknowleged us, and said nothing about us having to leave. We stayed 30 minutes or so and left.
Every time, it was a pretty emotional for me be in that quiet, empty stadium, and stand where Cannon fielded that punt, the front corner of the south endzone where Davis caught the pass that beat Ole Miss in '72, and the spot where Eddie Fuller landed so hard he made the earth shake.

I've been in stadiums all over the country. When we travel we like to visit college campuses and their facilities. The last one was the baseball field at FSU, and Doak Campbell. Most stadiums are open during the day and its easy to walk in and take a look around as long as you don't go out on the field or try to do damage. With the recent history, I wouldn't recommend walking into LSU. As usual, a few idiots ruin it for everyone.

It's kind of like putting something out to the streets for the parish to pick up.. if you put a sign on it that says 'free to good home' nobody will take it.. put a sign on it that says '$5' and it's gone in about three minutes

When I was traveling we got into every stadium. Even pro. Oregon guy let us water the field. Mile High gave us a tour because we said we were looking to buy press box suites with company black card.
Oregon had guards but we drove in the back. Baltimore Orioles was a tough one to get in.
I actually don't see why they just don't let them stay open and have a minimum wage guard there.
