There are exactly 6 schools with 4 or more CWS appearances in the time since PM showed up to LSU.

UF - 6
LSU - 5
UNC - 5
Cal St - 4
FSU - 4
TCU - 4

In the last 5 years, LSU has 3 appearances. Behind TCU in the above group and tied with a few others.

Who is it exactly that we're jealous of?

And one of the other 2 years they lost to the champions in the super regional.

I mean man. I'm pretty hard on coaches and, PM certainly isn't without his flaws.

But are we fricking nuts?

I think any talk of getting rid of PM is emotional, but he needs to make a concerted effort to address the offense. Recruiting versatile players is a necessity, but surely there are some good athletes out there with a little more size and power. Also need to address Hitting Coach, with a full season to get the feelers out there.

I feel reasonably confident that if PM was in my living room right now, he would say "no shite".

I"m just sayin.......let's not get all nuts like the guy is failing. Cause, if he is, then basically, only UF and TCU are succeeding.

I wasn’t intending to lay some earth-shattering revelation on the board, but giving an opinion other than “Fire the Coach” typical bullshite. Now, since it’s a “no shite” let’s see if it’s addressed.

It’s like with Les the end results are really good but it just feels like he could be doing that much better with what he has. It leaves people frustrated

I mean, I get the natural desire to compare it to Les. But in Les' last 5 years, you couldn't say there were like at best, 3 teams in the country definitively better.

And let me be frank here. I'm a huge LSU fan who has never comprehended how the frick we elevated to being a top program in the first place. The prep baseball talent in the state is completely unremarkable.

TCU? I can get that.
UF? Yep.

Florida has 3 non Florida players on its roster.

LSU has 10 non-Louisiana

Another thing, should we even trust Alleva to hire us a new baseball coach anyways? I mean look at football, we have Ed fricking Orgeron as our head coach. Alleva would probably make Ochinko or Gibbs the head coach and then we’re really screwed

Or he could pull in a Will Wade. I’d prefer we let CPM get through this terrible patch of attrition and injury and see where we’re at.

I couldn’t agree with you more and that only makes the success that much sweeter in my book.

We should be very good next year if Storz gets healthy and Walker is back to normal post TJ. I expect Labas to improve. So if you have Walker, Storz, Hilliard, Labas, and Peterson all as guys who could start a game, you're looking pretty good. And that didn't even include guys like Beck, Fontenot, Vietmeier, etc. And honestly, Hess could return as well, depending how high he gets drafted, remember he's a draft eligible sophomore. He comes back, and our pitching staff is very deep and very scary. Our biggest losses will be Duplantis and probably Watson assuming he signs, also a draft eligible sophomore. I expect Cabrera to be a beast next year.

I don't want to fire him. That would be stupid. Can I say I want to fire Coach O in this thread?

Thing about baseball is, just like basketball, one or two guys can completely swing things.

Suddenly land 2 premier pitchers and your team goes from pretty good to great.

Not even ranked in the latest polls.

Wonder if they want to fire their coach.

It's probably his coaching. Forgot WTF he did the last 4 years.

We were one win away for winning the championship last season. We are going to make the post season in baseball. The sky is not falling. Same idiots calling for Paul head is why we don't rid of miles to hire Ed who will be lucky to win 6 games this year. No excuse for that. Leave Paul alone. He's good.

Paying a coach a top 3 salary for a team that is not in the top 25. It’s not what he’s done, it’s where the current state of the program is right now. The evaluation of talent and rookie assistant coaches has done him in. This team has no depth and that’s why everyone is blaming it on injuries.
