THe entire team should. Except several pitchers and feduccia. I’m a typically nice person but I can’t hold back anymore.

Based on the performances I’ve seen, he is already gone

No. He’ll be drafted high enough and has leverage to command good enough money.

He should leave, take the money and develop his career.

He throws in the 90s and have good movement.

He’s a closer. MLB teams need those.

He will be drafted based on his potential. He has all of the tools. Better pitching development under a major league system should do him wonders.

The question is how high is he drafted now. If I’m Hess, I’m gone if it is top five rounds. Anything else, I’m back for a title run.

Yes

I think financially it will actually make sense for him.

Some folks are amazing the way they simply cannot understand the reasons for staying or declaring. Tonight’s game doesn’t affect Hess’ draft position. Heis still a guy who maxs out at 94, throws an inconsistent slider and a crappy change. The pros will draft him on that regardless of what his win-loss record is. The multi-million dollar question for Hess is can he deepen his slider, master his change, and possibly develop another pitch.

Now, let me ask you, do you think he will make more progress towards those at LSU or in a professional system. I think that answer is obvious. It’s not that Dunn can’t coach; it’s just that LSU is not highly motivated to develop The pitcher for the long run.

The issue of the signing bonus amount favors staying a year, but his long term baseball future weighs against that.

It seems clear he's gone down since the early goings of this year and I wonder if he got inside his own head. But as for coming back next year, I'd be happy with him showing up the rest of this year.

He should if PM guarantees that he will only be the closer. That is his prospects. He comes back and shows he is still a dominant closer he can earn millions extra in only one years of work because it will solidify doubts that his freshman year showing as a closer was a anomaly and he will still hold the leverage of having remaining eligibility.

This is where I think coming back and focusing solely on being a closer and not toying with starting can help his stuff become better even at LSU. That can then earn him an extra $1M-$3M in signing bonus by putting off pro ball for only a year. Imagine making that much money in one year in your life. I think that is a gamble I would encourage most men in his situation to think about hard. He is not from a family in financial problems where he cannot take that risk.

Because he can hit mid 90s and had shown an above average feel for a breaking ball. Are you really that dense?

The question isn’t is he going to be drafted high enough to leave. ( he absolutely will ). The question is can be better his stock by coming back. If he comes back and shows more feel for his breaking pitch and change up then his 200k signing bonus could jump to the 7 digits. So maybe you should rethink the reasons for staying or declaring.

Baseball is the one sport where performance means the least on how teams draft. Baseball drafts are all about potential. They draft on body size, speed, etc
