no.

That being said, after your offense is installed you can tweak plays, add formations and routes etc. but the base is there.
you just described installing your offense

e said that in the locker room after the bowl victory to the players to set a higher goal for the next season same as any coach doe
the point of bringing this up is in reference to people like you and other o sycophants saying everyone knew we were in a rebuild situation.
head coaches dont promise playoff seasons if they think they are in a rebuild
do you see any other playoff guarantees making it out of any other locker rooms?

whose saying we are in a rebuild? Not me. 9-4 isn't a rebuild year. I don't see people saying they think this coming season (or last season) is a rebuild year. Personally I want and expect LSU to make some noise this year. I don't really think anyone is expecting LSU to make the playoffs this year, not with the teams Georgia and Bama are going to have this season. But they should be able to compete with them and the playoffs are a possibility, but a long shot. (but if I was O I would be telling the team we are going for the NC this season and will win it all, despite how much this pisses off the anti O's)
a lot is going to depend on where Narcisse and Brennan are at on how far this team can go this season

pretty much every O lover.

the majority of o sycophants are justifying 4 losses by saying," everyone knew we were in a rebuild"

the only thing stopping us is coaching. only 1 team on our schedule has a big talent advantage over us

Georgia
georgia lost what made them great last year. almost the entire front 7 is gone,2 olinemen, and both great rbs.
lsu is every bit as talented as georgia. the difference is uga has a qb.

and it would go in one ear and out the other. they had the easiest schedule lsu will ever have for the foreseeable future and we lost 4 games.

I've also read this MANY times on the board. I've even seen it called a "complete rebuild" more than a few times.
It's pretty obviously a ridiculous thought IMO.

Exactly rick. We explained this shite to him ad Infinitum and he still can not grasp it. Promises and goals are two different things. I haven’t seen saban or Meyer or malzahn promising anything. Just goals.

maybe some say that. What I mainly see is that we were thin in the trenches, especially early in the year before the true freshman got up to speed on the oline and in the dline where suspensions and injuries really hampered an already thin dline, especially early in the season. Which I agree with that. Haven't seen to much about a rebuild though unless beefing up the trenches is considered a rebuild. But I don't see that word 'rebuild' being used.

You never seen a coach tell his team before a game, "We're going to kick their arse, knock their dicks in the dirt, we're going to win this game." or something to that effect? Or "we're going for it all, we're going to win the championship" etc. ? That was the effect of what he was saying, setting a high goal for the team and stating it in positive terms. The team should have that mindset at the beginning of every season. Stupid ranters, (ie Fat Bastard) who he wasn't even speaking to, took it a whole other way.

like the positivity! Let's just say no team has a huge talent advantage over us that can't be overcome. This is LSU, we can overcome and have done so in the past. (JJ in Tuscoulousa 11/5/11)

that's the wrong mindset. I don't believe we have that type players that think like that. Glad our players and staff aren't quitters.

it's a complete rebuild, if people want to call it that, in the sense that we still have to overall the offense into a more modern style and that we had to beef up the trenches and now break in 2 new QB's. But in college football every year is a rebuild, or no such thing as a rebuild in college football, however you want to view it. Players come and players go. Some years your going to be stronger than others.

sooner or later that rah rah shite stops working and you have to actually coach.
Posted on 4/20/18 at 10:26 am to Rickdaddy4188
Rick,
Get real man. I understand you dont like O, but cmon thats enough. Boxcar is right. Oline and Dline were thin last year due to several factors... so there was sort of a rebuild in those spots. Dont be mad cuz you voted for Hillary. ha ha

Yes they are....and any rational person would know NOT to believe the promise of a football coach with a record like O's.
some of you believed O's promise...that's sad for you.

good coaches do both. Good coaches should be good motivators as well as have good control and oversight of the entire program. To me it is to early to judge about coach O, I know you and others have already made up your minds about Coach O. Myself, I'll wait and see how it plays out this season. I'm not going to make a call on a coach after his first season, especially a 9-4 first season.
