So now who thinks it was a mistake to pitch Skenes last night?

With a really good and complete outing by Skenes, LSU pitching is in the very best possible position for game two. One game at a time mind you....Just focusing on tonight. . . . Thx

I would’ve rather thrown Skenes, but this is more emphasis and maybe a mindset on Floyd and Hurd that we’ll need their best to get to next weekend.

I sort don’t think it matters. We either have the bullpen to get us to Omaha, or we don’t. Whether he pitched last night or today is irrelevant to me. Can the bullpen get it done? Skenes can’t do it on his own.

It was 100% a mistake.

Won’t matter if we win tonight, but that’s not the proper strategy in a 1vs4 regional game against the worst team to ever make the tournament.

The data exists… There’s a reason it’s very rare for 1s to pitch their Ace against 4s in Game1 of regionals. And even the people that are saying “it was the right move” know exactly why it’s so rare...It’s common sense. I understand defending the coach and supporting the team, which I do and will tonight, but it’s okay to point out when our coach made a clear mistake. It doesn’t mean I don’t support him and the team and I will 100% be cheering them on tonight regardless of the mistake.

Me. But given that we did start Skenes, him going a complete game was the best outcome of that so I was happy for that. Ready to stop diecussing it because everyones made their opinions known by this point. Just rooting for the boys the rest of the way to get to the Supers.

Thanks for a legit response....Not like the other aholes that live here. I didn't have a strong opinion prior to the game BUT, did notice it lined Skenes up for a perfect week of rest for the Super Regional assuming we make it there.

I know this is hard to do, but you don’t have to look at every thread. Just move on.

So, you're saying that having Floyd on the mound rather than Skenes is best case scenario? That's bold.

Look at it this way. It’s a challenge to Floyd, Hurd and everyone else. Skenes is done. They can’t fall back on him to bail them out. Win it or we’re done. The pressure will come on way or the other. Let’s do it now.
