You people act like his resurrected the dead. He took over a program on the decline sure. But we had exactly one losing season in a row before he got here. Back to back top 3 finishes in conference the two years prior. A few 1st rd draft picks in those years.

And it’s not like we ever went deep into the tournament with WW. For the alleged violations, we should have way more success.

He won a bunch of regular season games with illegal recruits. That’s all the man accomplished - other than potentially landing us on probation of course.

On the other hand, I think Wade gets at least 5 years and maybe 7-10 of show cause.
Has anybody gotten 7-10 before?

The more I’m reading from insiders, the more I’m concluding this is a witch hunt, holy shite the corruption of the NCAA to make up allegations here is off the charts

Dale Brown's last NCAA Tournament appearance AND winning season was 1993. In the 24 years that would follow prior to Wade's arrival LSU would finish LAST in the SEC West/SEC 9 times. They would reach the NCAA Tournament 6 times in that same period.

When Wade took over the program wasn't "on the decline". It was DECLINED given the fact it posted its worst record in SEC play...ever. And that includes the years LSU was on probation post-Brown. Within TWO seasons he took a program that went 10-21 (2-16) and turned them into a team that went 25-5 (16-2) en route to their first SEC Championship in over a decade and highest NCAA Tournament seed in almost 40 years. Were it not for the cancellation of the 2020 Tournament, he would have led LSU to the tournament 4 straight seasons. Something that had not been done in three decades.

At its BEST, the LSU program before Wade arrived was below average. Every single time LSU had a rare great season they would IMMEDIATELY follow it up by finishing last. [2000 - SEC champs, 2001 - Last; 2006 Final Four, 2007 - Last; 2009 - SEC champs, 2010 - Last].

To put things in even greater perspective, this season is (record-wise) arguably Wade's "worst" season since his first at LSU. This "worst" season resulted in a 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The three losers that coached LSU before Wade's arrival would have given their first born to have the same level of consistent success Wade had. He leaves LSU with the highest winning % of any HC in the history of program that coached more than two season. Or at least the best winning % since that magical run by Tad Gormley between 1921-23 (25-11). And what LSU fan today could forget those great years?!!!!

Did he reach the Final Four or win a NC? No. But unless you live in some alternate universe where LSU basketball has been a traditional powerhouse spanning several decades, I'd say the guy was on his way to possibly becoming the best HC in the history of the program.

His firing was justified. But you're a fool if you try to dismiss the success of his 5 seasons here relative to history of the program.

They need to show the evidence they have, all the stuff they have has either been addressed already (VCU extortion, the Watford thing, Smart) or is he said she said, they won't have the evidence to prove their case.

Yes, we do. You’re one of them.

Wade inherited a program that went 2-14 in the SEC the year before he arrived. How do you destroy something that sucks that bad??????

This is part of what makes it seem to me that there is credence in the theory that NCAA is really stretching/searching for anything they can find.
Also, Emmert & Co are not a court of law. I'm pretty sure I read (here maybe) that they really don't have to prove shite.
