See you in 2023 when that contract expires...

So the SEC told A&M yes, without consulting LSU, who is playing in the game.

LSU has asked that our home game that wkend not be on Thanksgiving Day & it appears LSU has no sayso whatsoever.

Remind me again, when is LSU playing A&M this year?
Joe Alleva was on the record saying that he didn't want to play on Thanksgiving.

I can't tell you how much I wish LSU fans didn't covet victimhood status so much. You are locked into victim gear, so you are programmed to refuse to listen to any of the multiple sensible explanations of how these things work.

well, with the combination of having Neville Chamberlain for an athletic director (one of these days I need a fark of Chamberlain getting off the plane from Munich with Alleva's face and the headline stating "Red Elephant Club says Peace in Our Time")
then you add in the way this whole Thanksgiving Day deal was handled...
then you add in the classic "INACTION THIS DAY" after the total clusterf*** of parking for last year's Florida game...not fixing it immediately, but next year...
well, you get the picture...

You have conveniently dodged every time I have linked Alleva saying, "We do not want to play on Thanksgiving." You also just stated that the SEC can't force a team to play on an earlier date. That is exactly what the SEC is doing, forcing LSU to play on Thanksgiving at College Station, and then we will be forced to play on Black Friday in Baton Rouge.
There are only two option, and you must accept one of them:
1) The SEC forced LSU to play on Thanksgiving against their will
2) Joe Alleva agreed to play on Thanksgiving
Either answer is bad for Alleva.

Just get the frick over it. Be an adult. You're fighting tooth and nail for victimhood status, and it is very womanly.

Joe Alleva never had the power to guarantee a time for the game. Only the day of the game.
Here is where the inconsistency lies.
Every year since expansion brought Arkansas into the league, LSU originally scheduled that home game for Saturday. In about 15 of the last 17 years, CBS demanded the game move to Friday. Apparently, LSU had no ability to reject that. So, the statement that LSU can dictate the game does not square with the evidence in hand.
Personally, the Friday game has been good for me, since I am able to attend more of those than Saturday nights because of travel. But I fully recognize that I am in the minority. What is at issue is that LSU apparently has less ability to influence these things than a brand new team in the league. And that is disturbing.

How can it be on a Saturday night if it is placed on Thanksgiving day?

"LSU got screwed" is way different from "Alleva wussed."
The former is an attempt to claim victimhood status. The latter is a statement I am not in a position to second nor dispute.

To say that LSU dictates the "day" in this case means one day is Thanksgiving, and the other day is Saturday/Friday. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that's how I interpreted that part of the discussion.

This is the issue. As much as ballcaster wants to ad hom us, calling gentle Chopique a "woman," he is ignoring the central issue here. LSU has a tradition of playing on Saturday nights at home. We are told that this cannot be because of TV contracts. aTm has a tradition of playing on Thanksgiving day, yet no one seems to care about TV contracts here. So does LSU have some special contract with CBS that no other member of the SEC has?
Also that Friday after thanksgiving game sucks. It really does. I don't think people would be so fired up about this, if it wasn't for the fact that the friday after thanksgiving game is the worst, low down, piece of cow dung game there is.

Alleva doesn't want to play on Thanksgiving for LSU home games. The SEC said fine, you don't have to. The contract that the SEC has with CBS is for Black Friday and the following Saturday. If CBS wants LSU playing on Black Friday, it is well within their power to do so per that contract. However, I believe ultimately Arkansas and Missouri will play in that slot, with the Iron Bowl getting the CBS prime time slot of 2:30 Saturday.

The idea that Aggy is being given preferential treatment over LSU is silly, childish, unrealistic, and narcissistic.
