DANIELS HAD 12 GAMES TO DEVELOP A DEEP PASSING GAME.

We are not talking about a Freshman. We are talking about a JR Qb that has started for 3 years.

If he hasn't developed it now, he never will .

Jezz , quit with the excuses for him.

Also, only JR had close to the WR talent Daniels had in depth.

This is one of the worst WR groups we’ve hade in decades.

QBs that had better seasons: JR 2006 - 3129 passing yards, 28 TDS & 1 TD Rushing (142 yards rushing) Mauck 2003 - 2826 yards, 28 TDs & 1 TD Rushing Davey 2001 - 3347 yards, 18 TDs in 12 games

Mett in 2013
3082 yards, 10.4 YPA, 64.9 comp %, 22 TDs, 171.4 Rating

Tommy Hodson’s entire career.

Comparing a QB’s raw stats in 2022 to eras past in a vacuum is dumb. Put a lot of guys of years past into modern wide open offenses, and they shatter Daniels’ numbers. He’s been good enough this year, but second best season ever as alluded by the OP? C’mon

No, we just haven’t had a QB who can get them the ball. This group is better than 2014-2015 and better than 2008-2010, and he’ll it’s better than 2020 and 2021, and arguably better than 2016-17

Decades plural? Do you just think of a number that sounds big and say it? From 2014-2016, we had 1 receiver drafted…Malachi Dupre in the 7th round. That wasn’t even 1 decade ago

If you take out the UAB NM State and Southern games
then to compare you have to take out all QBs G5/FCS games?

Rohan Davey threw for 3347 yards in 2001.

Joe Burrow threw for 2894 yards in 2018.

Joe Burrow threw for 5671 yards in 2019.

Jamarcus threw for 3129 in 2006.

Mettenberger threw for 3082 in 2013.

Jayden Daniels is number 8 in single season passing yards. And I'd argue he's worse than a bunch of other QB's that shared starting duties and didn't play a full season.

so... how do you come out with "JD has second best season for a QB in LSU history"?

Please explain.

Hell MAX JOHNSON threw for more yards last year than JD did this year!

so, we prolly shoulda just done whatever we needed to do to keep him around. He has more experience than JD, apparently throws the ball as good or better .....

SMH.

I’m truly bewildered by some posters inability to appreciate Daniels running numbers

800+ yards and 11 TDs

JD Has The Second Best Season For A QB In LSU History

These QBs had the best seasons for a team in LSU history

Joe Burrow - Natl champs (2nd year as a starter)
Matt Flynn - Natl champs (1st full year as a starter)
Matt Mauck - Natl champs (1st full year as a starter)
Jamarcus Russell - Sugar bowl champs (2nd year as a starter)
Rohan Davey - Sugar bowl champs (1st full year as a starter)
Joe Burrow - Fiesta bowl champs (1st year as a starter)

They made the talent around them better

Well frick...nuss must be better than even most think because he just threw for 300 yards on the #1 defense in the nation with that shite group of wrs...in a half. Who you think the wrs want as QB? Btw, I remember you before nuss played the other day calling him trash. Good call.

It truly is comical they trying to pump JD as second best QB in LSU history. Lol. Sad thing is that some believe it. He is t even top 20 best in LSU history, as a QB.

Before Burrow came to LSU he hadn't played much, Daniels saw action 3 years at ASU. ASU and now LSU have seen his CEILING, he's not going to get any better especially at throwing down the field. He's a run 1st Pass 2nd QB. The game tapes don't lie, and neither do your eyes. LSU has better options in Nuss and Howard so get them on the field in 2023.

Those would be great numbers for a Rb, not at QB.

How about the Southern game? Doesn’t fit the narrative huh? I get it.
