C'mon...you're just trying to pick a fight now. There's no reason to believe that this D won't mature into a top flight unit but the depth on the '11 defense was astounding. The front 7 was a known entity...deep as hell and super freaking talented. And the the secondary wasn't too shabby, either: Claiborne, Mathieu, Taylor and Reid. That's 2 first rounders and a kid who got kicked off the team his senior year and still got drafted in the 3rd.

So no, you didn't miss any preseason games but let's not get crazy.

There's a reason that the 2011 team was one of the best, if not the best, teams the Tigers ever fielded. And it started on that side of the ball.

Sorry. All I see is a deflection. Whatever. Sorry about the Yankees having a down year, and I'm sure the Lakers (or Cavs this year) will turn it around.

Based on all the stat cherry-picking it's amazing that anyone here thinks so highly of Gurley, who did next to nothing against anyone of note last season.

21 carries for only 91 yards against NORTH TEXAS
30 carries for only 132 yards against that piss poor USCe run D?
21 carries for just 86 yards against slow/weak B1G Nebraska?

Dude must be a schmuck

Valid point. Easy to make any argument if you pick and choose your stats well enough.

I'm the competition he plays against makes him look even better.

Gurley ran for over 120 yards against Florida and Alabama as a true freshman splitting carries. That's a lot more impressive than anything Gordon has done or will ever do.

Gordon split his carries as well and went for 1,500 yards last season. Gurley didn't break 1,000 (including going for only 75 against App St., 77 against Kentucky, and 86 against Nebraska). So forgive us if we're not swallowing the "Gordon is a chump compared to Gurley" argument.

Fact is, Gurley and Gordon are clearly top backs as evidenced by the mock drafts putting him in many cases at #1. Your SEC bias is clear and very evident, and that's fine.

He was injured pretty much the entire month of October and wasn't 100% all year.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

Are you serious? mock drafts, before they have played the season?

you suspect.

Are you saying they don't exist already (they do). If that's not good enough, there's the Heisman watch lists, or the stats from last season. All of those bear out that they are both very good backs, and that its not really possibly say that either is vastly better than the other.

"That's 2 first rounders and a kid who got kicked off the team his senior year and still got drafted in the 3rd."

TM was kicked off the team on August 10th following his sophomore year. I am glad he has gotten past the issues responsible for his early departure.

Yes he is.

Top 2 RB along with Gurley and would have been the top RB and 1st rounder in this last draft. He is as good as advertised. And he's in a diff mold than Gurley and the typical RBs we see in the SEC. He gets compared to Jamaal Charles... He's a little bit bigger than him and might not be as fast. But make no mistake, he's plenty fast and can score from anywhere on the field.

He's gonna get his. He's that good.

Who was claiming he was going to "run all over" LSU? I wouldn't be surprised either way...62 or 162.

62 yds sounds about right.

Gordon is good, hopefully he can earn LSU's respect on Saturday. One player who I think is getting overlooked by most LSU fans is the Badgers other RB - Corey Clement.

I think many LSU fans will be thinking who is this guy come the 3rd quarter of our game.

Gordon gets the hype deservedly so, but Clement may be the better all around back.

No.

Clement is still a damn good, but he is not on the level that Gordon is.

Let's just say We are very fortunate our LB's and DB's are most likely the fastest in the country....otherwise, things would get very ugly with Gordon on Sat
