The funny thing is Les' e-knights think criticizing the playcalling means some people want an air-raid offense that chunks it up like the Saints do.

yeah and it's awesome when they use "texas tech" when leach hasn't been there for a few years

my ideal offense would be USC circa 2005

we would have thrown it over middle more but mett air mailed an int. over a wide open obj. thats how miles see the game, if you are inaccurate and throw over the middle there is a much greater chance of an int. than if you throw to outside.

I thought the same thing when we threw to Ware out of the backfield for about a 20-yard gain on that opening drive. I said out loud "holy shite we threw a pass to a running back!"

This. I've been waiting for the SFP threads today. This one is just a rehash of what's been posted the past 24 hours worded a bit differently. I hope he has some more coming.

Collins has played well and consistently at guard all year. Right now he is our best offensive lineman. He is twice as athletic as Hurst and JD put together. Why wouldn't you try Collins at tackle? I still don't see how Collins could do any worse. We have lineman who can fill in at guard.

there isn't anything more to say

we're not a good football team. put it on the coaches and players, but we're simply not good

we've had one good game all year. one. we even had issues against UNT and a 1AA team

You didn't miss much outside of a really nice screen play to Hill.

The playcalling was just horrible and gave the offense no rhythm after the first drive, and the calls after the fumble were just bad leading to a FG.

We didn't even try and get the running game going and UF schemed beautifully to stop it. Ware in? It was up the middle. Ford in? To the outside.

In the end, if LSU simply changed up some play calls and ran the same plays out of different formations/personnel packages, they could be lethal.

Les Miles refuses to run the offense when backed up inside his own 20. If LSU is backed up, we line up in I formation and try to let Ware pound it out. If we do pass, it's a very safe pass.

See last week, first half vs UGA, first quarter vs Arky.

don't tell some of these guys who put all the blame on the players and none of the coaches.

No no no.

We just have no talented players capable of executing the game plan.

We have lost 8 fumbles (out of 13) and only have 3 interceptions, so if we can't risk a turnover then we might as well just kneel the ball every down.

You don't stop throwing the ball when you throw a single interception on a pass that sails, especially when a pass that was anywhere near the receiver would have resulted in a first down.

Execution is definitely an issue, but that also goes back to the coaches. Dropped passes, blown blocking assignments, and bad throws are all player mistakes, but some of it is due to coaching when it isn't limited to just one player.

I stated in a previous thread that there is clearly a delay/hang up in getting plays called and to the players on the field, and Mett and the players aren't having enough time to make adjustments, read the defensive alignments, call audibles. Earlier in the season, it seemed to be smoother, but now without LSU getting easy scores early, maybe Les is just having every single play go through him for approval.

Amen. Have we stopped running the ball after we fumbled 5 times vs Towson?
