"I can't believe you're wearing that after this year."

I get that sometimes also. I think, in a lot of cases, it's just said as a joke. But for the one's that are serious, I feel bad for their kids. Are they going to quit supporting them if the team drops a few games. If the kid screws up, will they lambast him/her and quit going to the games. I hope not.
Let's think about the good that can come out of a mediocre season. An abundance of LSU mechandise at reduced prices and better seats available for the true Tiger fans. (just kidding).
At least the majority of the people on THIS board are true fans.

I can tell you right now that assclown didn't go to LSU nor graduate because he wouldn't have said that if he did.

Well I never went to LSU and will always support MY Tigers. Being an alum doesn't merit you or anybody else in the upper echelon of great Tiger fans.

Now with that being said, I had the same thing happen to me Sunday at Leblancs. Old man told me he wouldn't be caught dead in an LSU shirt right now. I politely asked why. He said "did you watch the game? Who would support those losers?" I looked at him and said, ME!

Office Depot has a great LSU computer chair on sale. My children gave it to me Saturday, an early Christmas present. I was just as proud to sit in it Saturday after the loss as I would have been if we had won on Friday. You know why? It was purple and gold and had the LSU Tiger logo on the head rest. Did I take my LSU tiger license plates off my two cars, hell no. Go Tigers, but please get a new DC.

This happened to me on Thanksgiving, my wifes uncle in law is can be a dumbass to say the least. I had a LSU collar shirt on and he says "i wouldnt be caught dead with that". I said "i dont pick a team year to year based on who will win it all" then told him "I also take pride in the university I attended".

He was like "well they suck this year". I laughed it off but I really wanted to say "you suck everyday"

Like I said, I don't think I'm better than people or in the upper echelon of being an alum.

But, there is another reason other than sports some of us wear LSU clothing. I happen to be proud of my degree. I am working the best job I've ever had right now both position and money wise, and it has everything to do with the hard work I put in and the almost daily walk from everywhere between CEBA to Lockett hall to Allen Hall, to the Life Sciences Building, etc. with 2-3 stops in between. I can do that route in my sleep.

So when somebody asks me why I would be wearing an LSU shirt based on what the football team is doing, I tend to look down on that. There is a much bigger deal to a lot of us than the state of the football team in our passion and pride of LSU. But for those of you that didn't go, again, I don't look down on you. I'm glad you're here, we're all a big LSU family, alum or not.

sad truth.

I get that here in Houston--I just say "most have none, some have one but only one has two and that's LSU"--shuts them up immediately!

Hell, in the early and mid-nineties the brothas and a lot of other folks in central Louisiana wore Nebraska, Miami and Florida State colors.

THEN, starting in 2003 and climaxing last year, EVERYBODY wore purple and gold.

Hey, I don't want to see us have some bleak football seasons but I won't be disappointed to see these bandwagoners jump ship.

The woman that coaches my little girls basketball team said the same thing after practice on Sunday. She's a Tulane fan, so I said, "what as opposed to wearing your Tulane jacket"? "if you couldn't beat us this year you missed your chance."

Then she said something about having to wear the Tulane jacket.

Similar instance...I had my colors on yesterday at my twins skating birthday party. Had some dumb frick say the same thing. Told him I was cussing them on Friday but I still wear purple and gold proudly.

Never forget while living in Nashville in 93 right after LSU beat Alabama in the Dark Ages of CFB at LSU under coach unmentionable, I was checking out in a Walmart and had my LSU cap on, and this UT guy from the other side of the store in the checkout line yells out Go Tigers, and as I turn around he gives me this big thumbs up on beating Bama.

Living in Dallas gives one a first hand view of bandwagoners. There is no burnt orange to be seen, until the day after the texas-ou game, then what do you know?
I am an LSU alum and am still wearing my purple and gold every day, but can always feel free to leave my aints gear at home.

Your college team is like your wife, you'll always love it, even if it dissapoints.
Your NFL team is like a hooker, a fair exchange of money for a bit of pleasure.

I see you're from Broussard, so it must be a Loony Coony with a bad case of penis envy.

BTW: I'm NEVER ashamed to "represent."

Dallas is not a sports town.
Dallas does not support sports, only winning sports so they can be socially seen at all the right places.

My LSU flag is still flying.
Will come down after the last game.

I have never sat foot in an LSU classroom, my folks couldn't afford it, but have been a diehard fan since the Colorado game in the early 70s. Went with my uncle to that game, most fun I ever had as a kid. I actually graduated from Troy, went to the Troy game and wore my Trojan shirt around for two hours and got tigerbaited 3 measly times. Then, back on went my LSU gear. At the game I was talking to the few fans around me, when Troy went up 24-3 I pulled off my LSU sweatshirt to show my Troy shirt. Lasted for almost 30 seconds. I couldn't do it, put my LSU sweat back on and started rooting for my tigers. Screw Troy!! I am always thankful for the doors the degree I got there (while in the military, never sat foot on Troy campus) opened up for me, but I will ALWAYS be a tiger fan!!!!
