Its okay to question the decision to start McCune, but regardless, we would have lost today. Glen would have given up a run at some point

Exactly. Now we know that McCune probably isn't where we need him to be as a possible third starter. Pitching him against McNeese isn't going to tell you that.

Bonvillain has a horrible k/walk ratio. That just scares me

Yet he somehow manages to have a 1.36 ERA this season with the 4th most IP on the team. Terrifying.

I don't think you could ask for a better season thus far for Bonvillain.

Bonvillian has been great this year. Only thing with him is that he apparently can only go 4-5 innings, which usually isn't too big of a deal since our bullpen is usually pretty full on sundays. Glenn has pitched well the past couple of weeks, which is why I really didn't understand going with McCune today. Especially when he hadn't gone more than 3 innings in any game this year.

Nobody has the pitching to win when you can't score.

we scored ZERO runs. you can't win scoring ZERO. True McCune didn't pitch well but, he doesn't bat.

Gloves need to be re-laced to remove the errors and they need new bats that don't pop-up.

Jacques Doucet ?@JacquesDoucet 4m
It's obviously a decision that didn't work out. Mainieri on starting McCune over Glenn. Envisions McCune as NCAA regional starter

Not surprised at all. Although I was ok with McCune starting Sunday, I didn't think Glenn deserved to be replaced after his performance at bama. Especially at home.

I also didn't think Glenn should have been pulled after like week for McCune, although I still was optimistic about it and didn't have enough room to complain about it before first pitch yesterday. Kinda seems a little late to me. Hopefully it doesn't screw with Glenn's weekly rhythm as he didn't pitch at all this weekend.

I was not optimistic about McCune starting. Before the game started I said I was nervous and I was right.

I don't understand why PM was scared to throw a lefty. It seemed like that was the real issue with Glenn starting. Bonvillain came on and mowed them down.

I don't think it was replacing Glenn as much as a test for McCune. IMO

Same here. You need to know if you can count on him to start a game in the postseason. Starting against Tulane, McNeese, etc. doesn't tell you that.

I struggle with Bonvillain. There is little doubt in my mind that THIS YEAR he has pitched better than Glenn and McCune. I'm not talking about potential, because Glenn and McCune have much higher ceilings. But I honestly believe that Bonvillain is just better in the long relief role rather than the starting role. So it sucks to say IMO that our best Sunday guy shouldn't get the start.
