Would he have been a combo of Newton and maybe Mett?

What was his ceiling in comparison to other players?

No, he wasn’t as big as either of those guys. Perriloux could have been more like Nick Marshall with better arm talent

He plays the 2008 season. JL and JJ aren't pressed into action too early and don't have their confidence ruined. Les is still the Mad Hatter instead of trying to hide the QB.

his ceiling would have been pretty low bc he was being coached by les frickin miles. Les had no passing scheme to help the qb nor any ability to develop a qb so the whole RP what could he have done is a sad consideration. Les would have ruined him at best.

He has always been my main argument for NOT paying the players. Was his likeness the reason for his popularity? Did the sell #11 jersey due to his name? ... nope! It was because he was the LSU QB. How many JSU jerseys did he sell?

Ryan 11 had been developed by Jimbo for 2 years. he'd have been ok.

in his 2 starts in 2007 these were his passing stats:

MTSU: 20/25 3 TD/ 1 int

UT: 20/30 1 TD/ 1 Int (SECCG MVP)

we still threw the ball a good bit the next couple seasons, and his WR1 would've been Lafell (who led or tied for the lead in SEC receiving TDs in both 08 and 09). his other WRs would've been Byrd (in 08), T. Toliver and Randle (09).

LSU-wise? maybe 03 Mauck-ish with more rushing yards.

non-LSU, maybe the WIsconsin version of Russell Wilson.

He would have been great in 2008 and 2009. But his attitude was so crappy that even if he wasn’t kicked off the team, he would have been a cancer.

The Florida-LSU rivalry would have been awesome with Tebow there and Perrilloux battling. I think we beat Alabama in 2008 and 2009 is a toss up. We wouldn’t have needed the Patrick Peterson INT call that we didn’t get. Greg McElroy vs Perrilloux as a senior, we would have had a significant advantage.

I've always said Perrilloux ruined Les. After he screwed us in 2008 and 2009 Les never trusted a QB again, other than Sr year Mettenberger

I don’t know what RP could’ve done at LSU, but I know his dismissal started the QB curse that Joe Burrow finally ended.

Guy was freaky talented but a total headcase.

Big at 6’3 210, and strong.

Could run, had some sick hops.

He didnmade it to the NFL briefly, and received a SB ring with the Giants.

That's an incredibly dumb take.

You realize Giancarlo Stanton's jersey has sold more as a Yankee than it did as a Marlin, right?

I don’t understand why Les didn’t realize he simply could not afford to dismiss RP11. His eggs were all in that basket - we wanted him over Colt McCoy.

He knew that Hatch wasn’t an SEC QB and JL/JJ weren’t ready. At that point you just have to deal with the off the field nonsense and ride with your guy.

If he had the foresight to do this
08: 10-3 (losses to UGA and UFx2)
09: possible natty contender

If we had lost to UGA and UF in '08, Bama would have finished ahead of us in the SECW.

FTR, if Perrilloux was QB in '08, I think we beat UGA and Bama which would have the OM game for the SECW.

The '08 offense would have been the standard before '19.

Goddamn you.
Fine, I’ll bite.
I think he would’ve won the SEC and likely led us to repeat in ‘08. Don’t know bout Heisman, but wouldn’t be shocked if he’d torched the SEC and just ran away with it. Dude would’ve been scary good in ‘08. It’s crazy to think how that turn of events altered the course of our program and Les’ tenure at LSU. Wish so badly he would’ve wised up and done right. He would’ve been special.

Maybe we could have beaten UGA; they really took it to us though.

I just don’t think we were beating that Florida team even with 2 tries. Urban/Tebow could score on Malleveto at will

09 would have been something though with RP, Scott, Williams, LaFell, Tolliver, Holliday and the Chavis D

At a certain point, you can’t ignore negative actions and let the potential ramifications of those reckless actions be unaccounted for. Can’t lay the blame at Les’ feet for this one. Dude gave Perrilloux chance after chance and he refused to get with the program.

Usually I would agree but not when it’s your only viable QB. You suck it up and make sure he’s on the field every week.
