Yikes - opening paragraph of this garbage talks about 41 year old LSU grad student, Chris Toombs, living in "poverty". Sounds to me like he chose to pursue a Master's degree while working an on campus job for $12,000/yr.
No sympathy for a 41 year old man who chooses to live off of 12k/yr.

To sum up the article... In Baton Rouge undeserving white people make more money than their skills warrant, more skilled black men are kept down and made unable to advance to their proper station in life, and it is somehow Brian Kelly's fault.

This whole thing is whale shite.
The article has a main character, and his only involvement with BK is that Collis randomly orchestrated a meet and greet at Louie’s between the two.
The main character doesn’t seem like an idiot, just some guy who doesn’t know what he wants to do in life and hasn’t stuck with a career long enough to make any real money.
There’s a few in this thread who talk about talking (I.e. you claim you want to have a conversation, but YOU don’t do anything to start said conversation). That’s sort of how the article is. It’s a slice of life piece about the ghetto that is Baton Rouge, but hey…the football coach gets paid. Welcome to the USA. Your city can be a complete shithole, but if you can shoot a ball, throw a pass, hit home runs, etc…you’ll be a millionaire looking down upon the wretched.
This is in no way unique to BR or LSU.
And does racism exist? Sure. It exists in BR, DC, Chicago, Boston, El Paso, and damn near everywhere in this country.

Can you provide current examples of any of this? 30+ years ago much of this may have been true but I just don't see it now.
The modern race debate is white people did bad stuff a long time ago therefore all white people are racist today and all minorities are oppressed so the key to ending racism in America is more racism.

This is the problem. You know there is racism in BR. You see it and you know it exist. Then when someone speaks of it they are labeled as a race baiter.
Yep. I heard Kelly wants an all white team and wants to go back to the era before the forward pass

We all know the difference. You and StadiumDumbRat are changing the meaning of words.
Racism has a very specific meaning.
Prejudice has a very specific meaning.

If you google the word racism. Literally the first word in the definition is prejudice.

Unfortunately, most people on this board, and certainly reading through this thread, are privileged white people who cannot grasp racism versus prejudice. They are all triggered by a national spotlight on the deep racial inequality in Louisiana. They can't handle the truth, and they certainly don't understand it nor want to understand it.
Again, someone who talks about talking. There’s no substance in your post. Deep racial inequality in LA? Sure. But this has zero to do with BK, and the article is a poor attempt at bringing LSU football into the discussion.
If you want to write about racism in Louisiana, then do it. Brian Kelly has zero to do with it.

I agree with this! But, journalism is all about clicks and views. The author got many more looks because he linked BK to the plight of racism in Louisiana. How many people nationwide would read a WP article entitled, "Racism in Louisiana"?? A journalist's job is to expose the truth and spur discussion. I'd say this was a job well done.

Blacks are more racist than whites

A number of ex-LSU basketball players, white, were involved in this particular enterprise.

And football players too. It’s a good way to make money if you have a name and face that people recognize especially just out of college. There is nothing illegal about it just like there is nothing illegal about most multilevel marketing/pyramid scheme endeavors.

I went on an interview with them fresh out of college not knowing anything about them and CT3 actually conducted the interview. I still chuckle about the moment I realized what I had actually shown up to.

I mean this guy wrote a 200 word post explaining how black people can't be racist. I wouldn't expect any critical thinking out of someone that conditioned into believing such lunacy.
