Is this clever in some way?

Explain how the game of football has changed due to the portal. Not the personnel but the actual football game.

Unless, perhaps, Fentanyl has addled your brain? Maybe that was what you statement was about.

Loyalty and tradition is out the window which was the foundation of college football since I can remember. For you to act like nothing has changed is funny

MAKE NIL $$$ BACK-ENDED.
Make back-ended NIL contracts contingent to minimum 2-3 yr PLAYING.
Make transfer destinations pay a BUY-OUT, just like coaches switching schools.
Penalize/withhold money payments to kids who renege.

PROBLEMS SOLVED.

I really feel like they'll be some legislation or regulation coming down sooner rather than later to prevent what's happening this year specifically. It is out of MF'in control.

It's disgusting and making it impossible to develop any continuity.

I'm not talking about making money either. I'm referring to this dumbass portal. If you want to transfer, that's fine.... But you'll have to sit out a year and lose a year of eligibility like it used to be. Then you'd think twice before running away

I am simply referring to the Xs and Os. Do you think players were loyal because they were better people or do you think it was because they had no option? The traditions are what they are, it's up to people other than players to keep them up. Coaches and administrators for team traditions.

Fan loyalty and traditions are up to us. If we can't be bothered to try to keep those up because a player leaves after 1 or two years instead of 3 or 4 years, we don't deserve to keep them.

The tradition of pissing and moaning about everything is surely alive and well here, though. The end of college football is nigh. I've been told that for longer than I have been on Tiger Droppings. But I know this time it's true.

Loyalty is measured by longevity. When you don’t have that then loyalty is nonexistent.

Players have traditions too especially at LSU but it’s more about wiping things out like recruiting kids for the right reasons, selling them on working hard to get better and coaching them up. It’s pointless now to coach guys up bc you may never see them again. A kid could literally get on campus and 4 months later enter the transfer portal if he wanted to. It’s insane.

What kind of people would we be if we didn’t speak up for the things we believe in and are also in the majority of this argument anyway.

Facts, players were getting paid prior to NIL, and they will always be paid. NIL with strict transfer rules would be a lot better imo. They will keep this model as long as they can though because it generates chaos which generates more news which generates more clicks and money. I just don't understand trying to fix something that wasn't broke. They're milking college football for every penny at this point.

That is what happens when Government Bureaucrats orchestrate a system.
Those clowns couldn't run a lemonade stand but they can F up everything they touch.
Those who can.. do.
Those who can't, Teach.
Those who can't teach, run for public office.

Who would have thought 18-20 years old with agents and an unlimited transfer rule would lead to players transferring every year. Just wait until this kids get the league and start sitting out because they don’t like their contract they signed in the offseason.

That’s why it would have to be a players union agreement and broad structural outlines, it may happen one day and it may not happen one day. Not as big of a fan of football recently, I bled purple and gold since I’d say 96/97 the riots started then Covid now this with players bouncing around.

I love football specially college ball to include basketball but I just don’t think I can continue to invest as much time into it as I used to and that’s ok. I will always be a fan and I love it, but this shite is wild

Can the ncaa change the transfer rules or is there some court order that prevents this? This madness can not continue.

Yep, we discussed this recently about college teams having a decent backup QB.

Basically any backup QB that’s worth a damn will transfer to a school where they can start. So very few teams will have a decent backup unless they have a huge NIL deal like Manning does.

The portal system they have in place is even worse than NIL.

I think there are situations on teams where the best players may be freshmen or sophomores and get all the playing time. The guys playing behind them may be very talented but just not getting the chance to show how good they are. I think some of the 5* laden teams, like Ga, Tex, Ala, Oregon could very well have players that hardly played for that reason and could really help LSU . Not all, of course, but I would certainly take a long look at the Ga players that have entered the portal in areas of our need.

You might not have the makeup for the new era of college football.

However, if you can take a breath and have the ability to financially contribute to the future success of LSU in the NIL era, you might just make it.

Or don’t and enjoy the extra time you will have on the weekend.
