It’s not a total rebuild. It isn’t elite by any means but the freshmen and the signees are a start to get back there. Next year will be another regional team with what we have signed and what’s coming back, that wasn’t the case when Smoke left.

Totally agree. A coach should always leave a program in better shape than he found it. Even though we were his dream job, Paul leveraged the Texas job for a raise and extension and we gave it to him. Should have let him go then. But he’s overstayed his welcome and it’s arguable that this program is better off now than Smoke’s last year(s).

I was halfway joking but I’m not fckn laughing. This is the worst team LSU has fielded since the 80’s. Undisciplined hitters, defensive liabiiities everywhere, underwhelming freshmen class and zero leadership. Shell of a pitching staff. I’m truly embarrassed

Correct, that class had 4 unbelievable position players who were never touched by Smokes coaching staff. If we’re to count that as Smokes gift to Mainieri then I’ll count it.
