Well written article looking at Saban's time at LSU, and some "insight" into TAF and football. At the end of the article, there are some candid thoughts on the relationship b/w Miles and TAF.

Good read. Interesting that the article alludes to both the perception that we can draw a top notch, proven coach and the contrasting outcome : a political campaign driven by boosters with a financial interest who wanted a guy in there that they could direct.

Takeaways: Les didn't kiss TAF arse and coach O appears to be a yes man.

How dare those assholes mention Ben Simmons in the same sentence as Shaq and Pistol Pete.

Like a script in a really bad B movie.

When Coach O was hired as interim,” Netterville said, “we went to him and said, ‘Look, there are a lot of people in our organization that have been turned off by Les Miles.’ I’m not going to get into why or anything, but he’s not real friendly. O, on the other hand, will do anything you ask him to do.

So we said, look — I didn’t do this, but the CEO does it — here’s 25 names of people who have been very loyal supporters of football as well as LSU that have kind of disassociated themselves because they couldn’t go to first base with Les Miles. Would you mind calling, just introduce yourself, and say, ‘Welcome. We want you involved,’ and all that? He called five a day.

Politics, yes man, etc.

Pullaro explained: “I’ve got a school here that is a draw. Maybe I can’t get Saban back. Maybe I can’t get this one back or that one back or the one who’s at Ohio State [Urban Meyer]. But I guarantee you, a good school like a Louisville, or even Nebraska, I could pull from. I could pull here better than most people because, first, I’ve got unlimited resources. I’ve got unlimited fan support. .?.?. I was there when we hired Saban. Here [the coaches’ agents] come, baby. I mean, they’re lined up at the door, wanting, ‘Take my man. Take my man.’?”

I think it is a good thing to reach out to people who have helped the program and school in the past but got turned off by the previous coach.
More people pulling the wagon.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm not sure what the main point is.

I get 2 takeaways from that article:

- its kind of amazing how readily those guys admitted to the dreaded old boy network being in full force and effect.

- those guys are still all over Saban's knob.

Sounds like the TAF needs it’s own “Tell the Truth Monday”.

Or be your own man, develop a plan and influence the TAF to help you execute on it, realizing that you won't make everyone happy in the process. The article framed it as if he was willing to be a puppet.
