Slow runner and we don't try to throw him out at first?

No...he made the right call going to the bag. No way he makes that throw after the backhand stop.

Think Doughty is gun shy at third with all the throwing errors.

Ya only thing better would have been a dive. It was the right decision. Heads up play.

He was less than half a step from getting him. The split second he paused to make that decisions would have meant a late throw to first or one in the dirt that could end the game.

A good throw gets him by probably 2 steps.

He didn’t trust the throw. It’s not ideal.

An average or plus runner I 100% agree with going for 3rd base.

You have to know the runner and have an idea before the ball comes. It was a tough split-second decision though because neither choice was easy.

The runner was in front of him and beat him there by a split second it’s hard not try and take that out.

And if the first baseman bobbles the ball or he air mails the throw then you’d be bitching why he didn’t try to tag third base.

We have the best defensive first baseman in the league...maybe the nation.

If he airmails the throw we lose. But, it was just a long throw. It's not like he would have had to rush it. The runner was very slow.

I agree. Why are we worried about him making a long throw to 1st?? You are the 3rd baseman fir LSU, you can’t make that throw without worrying about air mailing it??? That’s the problem with Doughty.
