What game does last night's most feel like in your LSU fandom? So many times, games resemble others. This feels like an absolute anomoly.

Ole Miss should have been up 27-0 in the 2nd. A good team that just kept fricking up and made it closer than it should have. I feel like we have done what Ole Miss has done before, but I cannot remember a game a Top 10 team just handed us a game.

I saw Ole Miss go 0/8 or something on 4th Down when they played Tech in a bowl game, everyone in the country knew they were going for it on that first one.

Both teams made mistakes and missed opportunities in an SEC football game between two tough teams. In the end, the team that was able to score touchdowns instead of field goals won the game.

I don’t know what you’re saying so I can only guess and I think you’re asking where this game ranks compared to other greats.

I’d say 100% top 10 and a damn good argument can be made that it was a top 5 game in Tiger Stadium over the last 20 years. It was rocking from fart to finish and when the crowd forced that Ole Miss false start at the beginning of the game, we tasted blood and wanted more.

The vastly improved light show combined with the wristbands formed an absolutely incredible atmosphere that the crowd, from the student section to the south end zone to the upper decks all fed off of. LSU did it right this time - from the administration to the crowd - everything was superb.

I took it that he’s looking for a similar scenario where a “better”/ favored team squandered a lot of opportunities that allowed LSU to hang around and win.

That said, I don’t know that Ole Miss was that much better than us, if at all.

LSU’s defense had something to do with this. Opportunities lost because our defense showed up, not because Ole Miss should have trampled all over us. If you aren’t paying attention our defense is making progress.

I am not suggesting that LSU's defense did not step up in the last three quarters and OT, but to be fair, Ole Miss dropping an 80 yard TD pass, missing a short FG and fricking up on 4th and inches on the LSU 5 were mistakes they made. We were fortunate to be down only 17-13 at halftime. The last three quarters werre dead even, but I am saying is that first quarter was very gifted to us. I just don't recall an LSU game where an opponent squandered so much.

I do not agree. 27-0 is a stretch. This was Nuss’s worst game. He is usually fairly accurate. He was awful almost the entire game and Ole Miss couldn’t take advantage of that. It’s all about perspective. LSU has a pretty good passing game. Devastated with wide receiver injuries and Nuss having an off night and Ole Miss couldn’t beat us when weren’t at our best.

I’d say Tennessee or Miss St 2000 were kind of similar, although our defense was the driver last night for more of the game with offense being the spark in those games.

Honestly Alabama 2022 is a pretty good comparison imo. Defense played over their heads and kept us in it before Jayden took over and showed what he was capable of.

Nah. Les Miles teams were marked by being among the 2 or 3 most talented teams of any in the country everywhere but QB, playing an all guard oline, and an ancient offense because we’re scared to death of turnovers.

This Kelly team is just a scrappy team that is trying real hard to overcome the holes in the roster.

Well it felt a little like the blue grass miracle in that it ended on the last play

It felt like a late 90s early 2000s game to me. Back then there were many games where we went in good enough to win but not favored to win. We would scrap and claw and the game wouldn’t be a thing of beauty. The stadium was on fire and the games would go down to the wire.
It was very reminiscent of pre NC days to me

I thought they looked like the better team in the first half, but made costly mistakes.. But I guess you can't be the better team if you make so many mistakes.
