Sometimes i wonder if people even watch games.

Sure he was turnover prone in the post, but that dude bailed us out so many times.

Hope Emmitt comes back because he will help the team and help himself.

But, I heard a rumor (not substantiated) that he was 50/50 on returning. We will know by tomorrow!

Most of us knew that Emmitt Marlon and Skyler had no,chance of,being drafted. It does not mean they cannot go to the G league and get paid to,develop. Who of you guys thought Brandon Sampson would make the NBA as he did this year He did it by playing in themG league. Some of,us remember Scott Hamilton. Left LSU as a marginal player and made the Then D league. Played in the NBA and Europe

He more or less said he was coming back when he announced he was entering the draft:
quote:

"A lot of people don't understand how it works, all I did was enter my name in it so I can get the feedback from the NBA," Williams said. "It's not like I'm leaving college or anything, I can always go back and do my full four years, still get my degree.

"I just put my name there to see how everything goes and what the feedback will be. I just want their opinion and what I need what to work on for next year."

Take it for what ya will and you can look at my post history to verify but I personally met the guy and point blank asked Emmitt if he was returning and he said, "for sure bro". This was after his remarks he made at his Florida high school. The dude is coming back, no doubt about it. side note I'm 6'4 and this dude can't be taller than 6'6. I'm thinking more like 6'5, or 6'5 and a half. That doesn't translate well to the next level (for his position) unless you are an exceptional shooter IE PJ Tucker. He has work to do but I'm glad he will be doing it in the purple and gold.

The good ole rant, a if a 5-star forward doesnt drop 20/10 every game as a freshman here they suck.

It is clear who watches games and who doesn't.

KBW is the loss that seems to have left the biggest hole IMO.

Waters is the big loss.

I agree that Waters is a very big loss. He really orchestrated the offense for two years. LSU doesn't have a guy on next year's team who can do that. Now, it doesn't mean LSU can't/won't be good. It just means they will have to do it a different way on offense as Smart is very much a score-first PG. He definitely got it done vs. Tenn in a huge spot. The question is can that style work for an entire season when opponents have time to really scout for it? Still, there are FAR worse positions to be in than having a Javonte Smart as your PG.

I agree that Reid was unexpectedly clumsy, but he definitely did not "hurt" the team. His willingness to attack the offensive glass as the season went on is as BIG reason LSU won the SEC. In the OOC slate, particularly against FSU and others, he wanted to avoid contact and shoot from the perimeter. When he decided to use his size inside more is when LSU took off.

Watford will be an improvement as far as classic quality low post play is concerned

Watford isn't a "classic" low post player and his lack of strength (compared to guys build like KBW and Reid) is likely going to limit his ability to really bang inside with SEC frontcourts. However, he's probably more offensively skilled than Reid. That ability will help him get buckets in the post, but he's NOT just going to post up on the block with his back to the basket and dominate. If you are expecting that, then you will be disappointed.

If, IF, LSU can sign Dante AND he reclassifies, LSU could have a more skilled (offensively) frontcourt than they had last season. The big question though will be rebounding and defense. Remember, last years team didn't struggle at all putting points on the board. It was keeping opponents from doing so that was their Achilles heel.

Absolutely, we filled Reid's hole by Watford, similarish players.

We have literally no one to replace KBW right now. Dante reclassifying is the only real hope we have.

Anyone not buying LSU basketball tickets for 2019 is an idiot. Wade is the real deal, extremely talented, extremely bright, just ask LSU’s academic All SEC Mays.
