The only thing I wish Jay had done in the offseason was to find a truly outstanding pitching coach.

Bro. skip is an all time great but the sport is completely different in terms of roster management than it was in the 80s-90s.

Your critique is what every good baseball coach does. You’d realize that if you watched other games besides just lsu.

Statistically you can’t really disagree.

Nothing needle moving at all. Common sense: guys hit a little better when they’ve been playing college baseball for 4-5 yrs

I love how you’re assuming to know what I watch. Jay is a good coach and he’s very competitive. He loves to experiment with his roster which I think is great. But it’s ok to call out things you disagree with. I think he sometimes overthinks shite. Like when he used to flip flop Dugas and Jordan Thompson at SS/2B. Led to multiple errors. Everyone understands what he was thinking, he was overthinking. Just trust your guys to play defense and let them stay in the position they’re used to.

Capable doesn’t mean consistent or reliable.

How can you be that wrong about 7 guys though?

I get it if a couple guys can’t throw strikes occasionally

And teams didn’t usually have 4 pitchers a game, starter, mid relievers, closer-,the game has changed and with portal also JJ has adapted as well as anyone in college ball.

Skip also said: you don't know jack shite about your team until at least tax day. It's March 23 in the first true road environment

Not the point. Jay was suggesting he had a dozen bullpen arms and could have double-digit guys who will help LSU make a run.

Skip warned him that he’s lucky to find 8 or maybe 10 in a great year. The context of Jay bringing up what Skip believed in that presser was because he was clearly confident he had more than that going into the season.
