Both guys are gonna have to be dealing.
Bats are gonna have to not choke.

I like throwing Hurd out with the shadows & letting Skenes shut it down, unless you believe you can get 70 pitches out of Paul.

The normal-ish wind to RF favors us IMO. White and Crews are as good as power hitting lefties & Beloso is a power hitting lefty. Might even get a Jo-bomb.

Since he's never come out of the bullpen it would make sense to start Skenes and then bring in Hurd.

A week ago Ackenausen didnt start a game all year. That shite doesnt matter now.

I think as a batter, I'd rather the tougher arm first.

So I think we should start Hurd then throw the monster at them the last 3-4 innings.

I know it's hard to believe, but Skip hasn't coached in over 20 years. So because the game has changed, an 85 year old former coach is going to say he'd do something that's the opposite of how he coached his entire 36 year career in the sport? Ok

Skip was anything but conservative when it came to the usage rates of his star pitchers. People would have meltdowns today at the pitch counts of his guys.

Hurd comes in and deals his best game of the season, Skenes closes in a legendary sendoff

We win 4-0

What if you’re down 6 runs in the 6th? Gonna go to the mat without giving your best player a shot?

If you give up a big inning you adjust but every scenario for LSU to win is to either:

A-Avoid giving the big inning
B-Have the big inning

The longer the game is tied or you are ahead, the later down the rotation Skenes stays.

As soon as you fall behind or it stays tied the closer and closer you move to Skenes.

frick all that... Skenes pitches shut out through 5 then bring in hurd

I do not see why you people can't grasp that the reverse is better here.

So if we fall behind in the 2nd we put Skenes in? The 1st?

If we fall behind 6 heading to 2 no...you do not bring Skenes in the 2nd.

Do you think we fall behind by 6 with Skenes starting?

If he’s on a limited pitch count= relief

If he isn’t on a pitch count (which would be nuts) = start

I like this move. let Hurd go 3 or 4 (hopefully) and then you've got SKenes to either protect a lead for 3 innings or keep a deficit in close reach. Let Coop close it out. This is assuming Skenes is on about a 50-60 count.

I don't think we fall behind by 6 with Hurd, Skenes, Griffin or Cooper starting

Do the math for me. Because this is what was said against WF too, and unless you think Hurd had 6-7 scoreless in him, we’d be home now

This is like arguing baseball with my mom.

Peoples grasp thing and just cannot accept any other viable scenarios.
