I don't know what i watched or who posted it, but they were talking about some defensive metric. Not sure what it was or how it was calculated, but LSU graded out at -3.16 or something like that, they said it was the best rating since 2014. Sorry I don't have any more information than that, if anybody else saw that video please enlighten us all. I don't remember who posted it or how to look it up or I would have watched it again.

TLDR version: according to some metric, that was the best defensive performance since 2014 including games against fcs teams.

Sorry dude that 2011 defense was bette

Statistically 2011 wasnt the best in 2011.

I just don't think think 2011 was better than
Corey Webster
Travis daniels
Laron landry
Randal gay
Spear
Marquise Hill
Lavalais
Kyle Williams
Melvin oliver

And that's not counting having Saban and Muschamp drawing up the defenses.

2011 gave up 20 twice as many times as 2003 gave up 15.

I can hear those now out back.

It's been a nice rainy August.

think we get too conservative at times during the game. Similar to Miles to a fault.

Our last few possessions felt like Les Miles, I was dying on the inside watching that. Had the chance to end the game with so much as another field goal....

Doesn’t change that this offense sputters out the game most games. I’m not alone in this. This is the same football game we’ve been watching for 4 years.

So you don't follow the program.
Literally 2 years ago we were the best offense in cfb.

Are you saying we ran the ball down their throats and ran the clock out?

No we weren't able to run right at one of the best front 7s in cfb while they knew we were trying run and chew the clock and run the clock out.

I hate our entitled and football ignorant fans.

We ran the ball well all night.

Nah. You are just a sunshine pumper that thinks all is well because talent alone won that game.

And Clemson still had enough time to drive the ball down the field and almost tie the game so what was the point?

Im with you, and had that game gone into overtime I would have quit watching. A heisman frontrunner QB, weapons everywhere, and you playing "not to lose."

Did you sleep through the 2023 season? Or are you trying to win the "special" award for being the only person in history to call Jayden Daniels' Heisman campaign "sputtering"?

Just compare this defense to their own standards and hop on for the ride!

There's a lot to like. I just hope moving forward that we open up the offense a bit sooner.

I believe it will. Was kept conservative early on Saturday to make sure they could hold up against Clemsons supposedly loaded d line.

Havoc rate is about to explode. I kind of expect it to be 100 against LA Tech.
La.Tech shut out Southeastern this week 24-0.

The LSU Defense should be able to do that and maybe pull a "Bama 21-0 Natty Game in 2011" where they don't even cross mid-field!

No.

And I saw the exact same game all of last year. So, you want to take ONE year out of this tenure and pull out the outlier to tell me I’m wrong?

Everyone watched the same game and if you are telling me there wasn’t opportunities to make it unreachable at the end of that game; then you are seeing through purple and gold glasses.

frick outta here…

That team won in spite of Kelly.

And was stopped by the defense. That's why any coach worth a frick ,when they have a defense playing well, runs the ball and take time off the clock.

You people are the same posters that would be bashing Kelly if nuss throws a pick in that last possesion.
