Since this is the Rant, I'm going to complain about something.

I feel like you gotta at least do pitch count.

Or ball speed. Sad!

with you on that. i get that it's slightly more difficult to integrate MPH in real time, but the pitch count is rudimentary.

They also didn't have the ranks by the teams. frick THEM!!!!!!

My gripe -

Not the pitch count, but the pitch timer. You know, the "shot clock" that counts down, that the pitcher has to make a pitch before it expires, or else the batter is granted a ball.

That actually happened to Ulloa last night, and I believe that it wasn't the first time this season to happen to him.

That's a relatively new and obscure rule, that the casual fan probably doesn't know about, or would easily forget. If the timer is present in some corner, it's a non-issue, but in situations like last night, it's a problem.

Count was 0-1, pitcher was on the mound and preparing to pitch, and the ump stood up and signalled 1-1 out of the blue. If you aren't aware/reminded of that rule, it would be a WTF moment.

True, but the announcers did a pretty good job of reminding the viewers of it frequently.
