Just wanted to clear those up:) I'm glad the NCAA is accommodating BYU. They have accommodated other schools with similar statutes. We should respect all faiths and people.

So tournament has swapped days for teams base on religion after bracket has been set? When has this happened??

Should you REALLY be making fun of others beliefs?

Oh yeah. I grew up with a father that was a Sunday school teacher at a Baptist church. Was baptized and spent many Sundays being preached and yelled at by a red faced crook that hid behind his robe.

Attended many services at a Catholic church after my Dad hung up his bible. Could hardly hear the priest and no yelling and pointing fingers. Was quite pleasant after the fire and brimstone Baptist bunch.

Had some next door neighbors for a while that were Pentecostal. There was a son and daughter. Daughter could never cut her hair and always had to wear a dress. They used to come over to our house. One would come inside and watch TV while the other would stay outside to watch for their parents.

I went to church with them ONCE. Some crazy bitch sitting right next to me caught the Holy Ghost. Bitch started having seizures, speaking tongues, eyes rolling back into her head and flopping around like a fish out of water. I was very young and left and walked home.

Yes so I am an equal opportunity "make fun" of religions person. I don't care who they are Muslim, Mormon, Baptist, Catholic, etc, etc

My brother was going through the process of becoming a Mormon.

Point out one thing I posted that is incorrect. Take your time because I know the post I am responding to will be your last post in this thread.

Knowing someone that may or may not onow something about something doesn’t mean you’re not an idiot on the subject.

It would be quicker to point out what you got right, but as you wish:

quote:

God didn't go to Missouri and talk to some idiot.

Smith claimed to see God and his Son in New York.

quote:

The idiot basically stole the Muslim religion and created a non-violent Muslim religion with magic underwear.

I don’t really know where to start with this, maybe you could list the things Mormonism and Islam have in common. I can’t think of any.

quote:

Both encourage multiple wives in order to take over the world by populating it, no alcohol, etc, etc, etc

Mormons are not encouraged to marry multiple wives and will be excommunicated if they try.

quote:

They can't do soda or caffeine either.

They can do both.

Tread lightly. When you dig into any religion and try to rationalize it they all look made up and kooky.

Mormons may be the most violent religion

I have had a lot of dealings with Mormons in business and they have always been extremely conscientious and ethical. Now in fairness, none of my dealing were back in 1857 (which is apparently the last, and only time Mormons were violent).

I could give a crap what a [per5son believes but I just have one question, what the hell is magic underwear? I never heard anything about magic underwear. Oh, and to a previous poster, the Baptist religion is a Protestant religion. If you want to see a religion that hasn't changed then you need to check out that Armenean(sp) on Florida Blvd. I have a friend that goes there. From what she told me the Church sounds like it's a Orthodox Church.

I already posted them. Besides the magic underwear and extremism they are pretty much identical religions. The federal law has altered the multiple wives even though some still try it. I believe the show "Sister Wives" and multiple arrests and cults have shown this

Yeah, that is total bullshite. They can't do either. They also can't do alcohol or gamble

Oh, I forget what exactly triggers it but I think it is that if a Mormon follows the rules and does well in life they inherit or are given a planet when they die.

quote:

According to the LDS church, Adam and Eve lived in Daviess County, Missouri after being driven from the Garden of Eden.

quote:

Mormons follow a strict healthy lifestyle that doesn’t allow them to consume alcohol, tobacco, coffee or tea.

quote:

Mormons practice clothing rituals that include wearing special undergarments that have religious significance. Known as the “temple garment,” the attire is worn by adult members who make sacred promises to God.

quote:

Although the LDS church banned the practice of polygamy in 1890, Mormons have historically wed many wives.

In recent years, the church acknowledged that Joseph Smith wed as many as 40 wives, some as young as age 14.

Today, Mormons frown upon polygamy and choose to marry just one spouse. Still, a small number of fundamentalists, who broke from the church, continue to practice plural marriage.

quote:

Independence and other nearby sites in western Missouri — including a pasture 70 miles north that Smith tied to the Garden of Eden — serve to emphasize distinctive Mormon beliefs. Those differences are amplified by Mormon scriptures, doctrines and the abandoned practice of polygamy.

quote:

Smith sought not merely to reform Christianity, but to rebuild the early Christian church, with new apostles and priesthood authority. He claimed not only to have seen God and Jesus in a vision as a young boy, but also to have been given gold plates from an angel, from which he published the Book of Mormon.

quote:

A year after completing the Book of Mormon, Smith said God had told him a “New Jerusalem, a land of peace, a city of refuge, a place of safety for the saints” would be built in Jackson County, Mo.

quote:

“Today neither Missouri nor the temple lot there figure prominently in the consciousness of the average Mormon,” said Terryl Givens, a Mormon and professor of religion and literature at the University of Richmond in Virginia. “Most Mormons probably don’t even know the particulars of Smith’s teachings on the subject.”

Doubling down on stupid, I see.

Soda and caffeine aren’t off limits for Mormons

Joseph Smith sees God and Jesus at age 14 in New York

You didn’t list shite except polygamy which Mormons can not practice and remain members of the church. The people on sister wives and any other people you can think of that are polygamists aren’t Mormons. “Etc etc” does not equal a list. Tell me how they are identical without making stuff up based on false rumors or flat out making stuff up like you’ve been doing.

I was sort of joking calling you retarded before, but you may actually be retarded (and if so, sorry for making fun of you) if you think any of this has anything to do with what we’re talking about.

You may have missed this part of the article you posted. Every Mormon church and Mormon person I know do not condone or use caffeine.

Yes I was wrong about NY. Most of the beginning of the made up religion was centered in Missouri and Illinois. I forgot about NY

Read up on the 2 religions. It should be pretty obvious, that besides the magic underwear and polygamy that the Mormons quit only because it is against the law, the garden of eden being in Missouri and inheriting planets the 2 religions are pretty much identical

One of their strangest beliefs. I believe the sole purpose is to make male and female Mormons more fertile so they will have more babies

and lose valuable rest days between the next round of games
days of rest doesn't really apply to college kids who only play a 30 game season, 2 games per week (and played fewer games this year).

Days of rest is important in the NBA, which plays an 82-game season, 4 games per week, and then play 7-game series in the playoffs. Their games are also 20% longer than the college 40-minute game.

Rest between games isn't important in the college game. These kids can play all day, every day.
